I love the writing of this from Harley's perspective. You've got a real firm grasp of the storytelling elements and an ability to view the world from the dog's level. Really sweet reading. Thanks for posting.

Patty, this is a wonderful narrative of Harley's arrival to your home and his first encounter with Simba and Leo. Very clever to have presented this from Harley's point of view. It makes me really happy to feel your love for him and I know he has finally found a loving and safe home to be and grow up in. Excellent, very well penned narrative, my friend.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. Harley is having a good time 'settling' in, and Simba and Leo are doing their kitty best to make him feel at home. Thank you for your kind words. ~patty~

So happy to hear Simba and Leo are doing their best to welcome Harley. :-)

Poor Harley, not knowing what was going on. Then, to have to deal with two other pets in the house. I was glad to read in your author's notes that things have gotten much better. It won't be long before Harley really feels at home. Great story.

Hi Patty - thanks for reading and the generous review. Harley is actually having a blast, and while Simba rules the roost; Harley is getting the lion's share of time. Leo feels a bit out of sorts, but as long as he gets to sleep on my head at night - he is just fine! ~patty~

I am smiling at this first meeting. Simba will always be boss. He will probably never show much affection when you are around, but I imagine that, once he realises that Harley is not going anywhere, he will be fine.
We went through this when our black cats met Jet, and even again when they all met Smurf. Now it is just the two girls, (black dog, Jet and white cat, Smurf), they have an occasional battle for seniority, but most of the time Smurf looks after Jet.
The most hilarity nowadays is when a neighbour's cat wanders through our garden. Smurf goes ballistic and bounds from window to window to chase them away.
Yes she is an indoors cat, but gets out for a wee wander on a Sunday morning.
I look forward to reading more exploits.
Sorry about my ramblings.

Don't be sorry about the ramblings - the best part about writing this is the things I'm hearing about others' pets! Simba seems to be fine, as long as he feels he can still have attention when he wants - Leo, on the other hand, feels a bit displaced. While Harley respects Simba, he never fails to bark and yelp at Leo! Have a wonderful week! ~patty~

Thanks patty, I have a wee chuckle at the antics of the cats. I suppose it must be Leo that feels threatened.
In our house it was Tommy who was like your Simba, and Jerry who was a wee bit insecure. No worries, all will be well.

Hi Patty! I greatly enjoyed reading this exceptionally well-crafted chapter. It flows silky-smooth; with superb imagery very well-woven into the fabric of the narrative, throughout. The little bit of action within this chapter was skillfully-constructed, as well. Great work! Andy

Ok I am asking all those who I follow and who follows me to help me decide which of my writings I should re-post to make it recognizable now that I know how it works with certificates and member cent pump. Let me know what you think... thanks as well!

Harley settled in with less fuss than any puppy ever did in my house. I guess canines are just less dignified. Simba established the pecking order right off, and didn't hurt the baby doing it. Go, Simba! Hurray for pheromones! How is Leo adapting--not being the dominant cat, I would expect there to be jockying for position between him and Harley. Good wishes for continued household peace. Thank you so much for reading and the generous review. Harley and Leo have a very passive-aggressive relationship, and it is important to note that neither Simba or Leo have any front claws! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. ~patty~

I certainly enjoyed this piece, written from the POV of Harley. Loved the description of you as "the face". Was it Simba or Leo that put the young upstart in his place? Looking forward to reading more.

I like these Harley adventures. Amazing at how you can read the minds of these furry creatures so you can tell us what they are thinking! A great reading experience.

I find it amazing how every time I read a post about Harley I feel like I'm living the story through his eyes. It is very good and entertaining. I was strating to get claustrophobic in that darn cage.
