this form is new to me...
not sure i like it particularly
(oh i LOVE your poem...)
just the rhyming scheme - it is a little rough to me...
don't know why... i often use my own 'made ups' (lol - with the excuse of free verse?) that must be just as different as this particular style...

anyway - to your write
'Shimmering soft gray fur
My heart strings, he did stir'
got me right in - beautiful.
- i know what you mean by forget the allergies ...
sometimes you know that you have met a kindred soul lol
merry christmas
love judy

Thank you SO much for reading and the generous review. Rain was an incredible kitty; I still miss him and he has been gone over 11 years. Merry Christmas to you, too. ~patty~

that's a little of what keeps them alive... we just have to remember to remember the good moments with love (which means a truly letting go)..xx

a stanza with 57 syllables -that is the most bizarre syllable count form I've ever heard of. LOL You have followed the form well in this loving tribute to your lovely cat as far as I can tell :-) Brooke

That is a nice style and poem Patty, handy notes and a bit of history, sounds like a lot research!
Nice cat tale, the picture is neat, 'the' cat or similar likeness?
I have two furballs that are lazy ass pathetic and adorable!
:-)

Thank you for reading and the generous review. That IS Rain in all his glory. Pictures really don't show how his coat had a 'rainbow' hue to it. One of the cats I have now, Leo, looks an awful lot like him, but his fur isn't as pretty. Like your furballs, Simba and Leo are very lazy, AND very adorable. ~patty~

Cute cat, you sound like you have your hands furball full!
    My little black cat snores!

Loved the poem. I can always relate to animal poems, but especially cats. The poem was pleasant reading and had very good rhymes and rhythm to it. It had a simplistic style, using very descriptive, visual words to convey the poet's feelings.

Beautifully written and such a complicated type of poem. I can just picture him hanging upside down saying take me home!!! I love the poem and the picture too. Debbie

Rain was quite the character! From that first moment of meeting, he and I were connected in a special way - he is sorely missed. Thanks for reading and the generous review. ~patty~

I know you needed to follow a set pattern with this style of poetry which is definitely a challenge, but some of the wording was awkward and parts of it didn't flow well. best to you, joicie

This is a beautiful, well written tribute to Rain. You really have a genuine quality about your work that makes the reader sincerely feel your emotions. The picture is worth a thousand words. Enjoyable and moving.
