It is apparent to me that you have a good working knowledge of the diamante form. Your poem is really fine as it, but, as an alternative, you might consider: Lover, licker, jumper, greeter, yelper, kisser, which would slightly change the attitude of the poem.

This looks like it would be a little hard to do but you have done well in describing that sweet little pup. Everything seems to adhere to the requirements of the Diamante form. Great job.

All these adjectives to qualify a puppy? Wow, this must be a very special pet indeed. Nice little piece that shows how passionate the writer is about animals. kudos

i am a dog lover (and animal lovers in general) too so I appreciate the sentiments and also the clever form. The only suggestion I have is to find another word for "attached" because it makes the reader think of a leash or restraint of some kind.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. Good point about the word attached, but since he is a JRT, he always HAS to be restrained because he has no idea how little of a dog he is - so it actually applies in the 'leash' sense, although when I wrote it, I was thinking of how attached he is to me; he watches my every move! Thanks for reading! ~patty~

This is the cutest, cuddliest, fuzziest, dosh-garn, feel good puppy poem of the day. No fleas on this Diamante. Good boy...who's a good boy? Buddy's a good boy. But please don't crap on the carpet.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. This book says these forms are 'classic,' and yet, they seem totally different from what I've seen anywhere else. However, I will write one of each - featuring a pet - and make a collection. Harley and I are having a blast - even if I'm a bit tired!! ~patty~

Thank you for reading and the generous review. I, too, am collecting the different forms from other writers here, and I have a book I purchased with 42 forms that I'm attempting one a day -- should be fun. If you have time, please read along! ~patty~

I'm guessing Diamante is also the shape of the poem? This is a good poem, which you make look really easy particularly given the strict rules and guidelines. Well done.

It looks like a complicated poem. I will have to try one myself sometime. This was creative and worded very well for our furry friends are all these things. Great imagery. Your friend, Cody

Thank you, Cody. It really isn't complicated - it is one of the ways they introduce junior high student to writing. The 'types' of words are key, rather than meter, rhyming scheme, or iambic pentameter. Thanks for reading and the generous review. ~patty~

Thank you for creating and sharing a perfect "Diamante." I enjoyed your words choices and use of alliteration. I am glad you shared a picture of your cute "Pal/Buddy" as well.
