I really liked this writing. It's heart warming with muted humor. I love it is the cat's pov. I think some of the best stories I read are from an animal's perspective.
This was a very enjoyable read and congrats on All Time Best. It's well deserved.

I loved reading this! You definitely deserve that All Time Best. :) I can tell you're familiar with cats - you've done well describing what Simba must be thinking and feeling. I really enjoyed this piece. I have a suggestion for one sentence:
"A few years back, when Leo became a part of the family and it just made sense to give him a lion's name too." (This should read, "A few years back, when Leo became a part of the family, it just made sense to give him a lion's name too.")
Thanks so much for sharing this story!

Thank you SO much for reading and the generous review. I greatly appreciate your help with that sentence; I've already fixed it. I am glad you enjoyed this story about one of my favorite cats. He is a big beautiful boy, and it is fun to imagine what goes through his head. ~patty~

It took me just about a paragraph to get into this story; then I was hooked. Your descriptions of this magnificent big cat, and your version of what he is thinking are most convincing, and I think you have it - just perfect.

Simba is just beautiful MP, she reminds me of a feline I once owned named midnight. Great story. So, Simba has no idea that she will be sharing her home and Mom with a new house guest, huh? She will probably be okay though. Simba seems to be a pretty cool cat.

They sure do. Kind of like kids. We thought my grandson would have a hard time accepting when we decided to foster but he surprised us. He is truly a blessing.

I loved this. The cat`s pov was perfect, and the ending delicious. hehehehe. I can tell that you love Simba by your words. You certainly captured a personality within this piece showing you must understand him.
I love cats, and have 10, I also have two dogs. So I can relate.

Thank you, Pen! I appreciate the 'shares' about everyone's pets. It feels more and more like a community of FRIENDS every day! I'm thrilled with your words, and I'm glad I can portray Simba and his kitty ways so well! Thank you - there's more to come as the house is invaded by the new arrival! ~patty~

Thank you for reading and this generous review. You can count on more cat stories, and one from the new puppy's point of view, too. I'm so glad that they are being widely accepted - I'm hoping to someday publish a book of short stories like these. ~patty~

This is a very sweet story. I don't think I have read anything through a cats eyes before. I found no obvious errors and the story runs smoothly. Good luck to you and Cheers.

Thank you SO much for reading and the generous review. I love writing from an animal's point of view. As a child, I was hooked on Albert Payson Terhune's dog stories about his pure bred collies, Lad and Wolf. As an adult, I couldn't get enough of James Herriott, and were it not for the whole yucky blood-thing, I would probably be a veterinarian! Follow along, and Simba's stories will appear quite often in the next few months. Thanks again, ~patty~

I thought this was well written. I liked the premise and the way you explained what was happening at the end. I was afraid it was going to be a divorce story, and glad it wasn't.

Nice One!
Your love of animals shines through in this story. I love animals myself, especially dogs. However, I am not that keen on cats. I don't know why.
Anyway, the story is well written..and from a cat's perspective too. I hope Simba and your new puppy get on well together.
