This is a very cute story, I play laser tag with my cats and even have one named Leo, I love cats and other animals, and I really liked this story.

Thank you so much, as always, for reading and the generous review. I'm sure that sometime in the week after December 18, I will be able to find time to pen the "introductions," and let everyone know how Simba and the pup are getting on. I appreciate your interest and your kind words. ~patty~

An excellent story well written from the POV of a cat. It held my interest right until the last word and made fine reading.
Although I'm not an animal lover, I appreciated the story.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is extremely well edited. You write well with the voice of an animal, something extremely hard to do. Although I have not read the other work in your portfolio, this stands well on its own. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Once again, THANK YOU for awarding this story the highest rating. Simba is a very special cat, and you can look forward to more stories of him, Leo, Mufasa, and the new puppy that's coming in a few weeks. Thanks for reading! ~patty~

I live with three cats and a dog, so this really hits home. I have had to leave them several times as I was hospitalized. I always wondered what they thought. This is enjoyable. Good luck with your homecoming. Debbie

I am an absolute sucker for animal stories and am totally convinced that my animals think I am the pet.

Great simple but fun read. I can almost see Simba's Roman nose.

Thanks.

Thank you so much, as always, for reading and the generous review. So, in your house, if you're the pet - do you have to wear a 'human tag?' I'm sure that sometime in the week after December 18, I will be able to find time to pen the "introductions," and let everyone know how Simba and the pup are getting on. I appreciate your interest and your kind words. ~patty~

As a pet owner all my life and not knowig your circumstances or experienc in introducing new animals into the castle, let me give you some unsolicited advise.

Firstly, a kennel trained puppy is a happy dog. The kennel is his place of safetly and refuge. IT IS NOT CRUEL!

Simba need to be introduced to the puppy while Max is in the cage so he can snarl at the canne and otherwise display his annoyance with the visitor. You nee to leave the pup in the cage for at least an hour so pussy cat gets a real good whiff of this potential threat. Putting Max in the cage at night will definately help with potty training and will allow Simba to voice his complete distain for the intruder while he cuddles under the duvet with you!

Yes, I do wear a tag, but it's not around my neck. It's tatooed on my forehead and reads SUCKER!

While I can no longer have a dog I sill have two cats, aging and opinionated, but dogs occassionally vacation at my resort and the felines are very secure knowing that I have enough love to go around.

You are loke an expectant mom....I can'y blame you. You've also decide to commit yourself to living for another fifteen years!

Please enjoy the new life coming into yours and reassure, reassure Simba that he will always be "Top Dog."

In spte of me calling him Max, what will you be naming pooch?

THANK YOU for the advice - it isn't unsolicited - if you post a story about a new pet, people here are going to come forward! I have never used a kennel in training, and I've been reading for months about JRTs and their boundless energy. Every single book talks of the sanctity of their kennel, and how it becomes their safe place, so what you are saying makes perfect sense. Just hope I can actually leave the little baby in a cage all night! LOL! Hmmm, looks like we have to train the trainer! THANK YOU for your wonderful advice. Right now, the name is wavering between 'Will' for William Shakespeare and to honor his kennel name, . .AND 'Writer,' because someone here suggested it, and my husband thinks it is a good fit. ~patty~

Jack Russell's take forever to grow up and you can look forward to losing ten pounds without trying. The kennel will save your life when you get over the first blush of falling in love. Make it bigger if you ant but make sure its there when you come home and its the first place the dog goes when he gets into the house. I promise, all of you will be happy to have tis quiet place. Yes, a water dish and some toys and teats go in only when its bait to get him in before you leave. You do owe some loyalty to Simba and trust me in this, he will be a very brave cat and train the puppy in all manners of respect as he roams freely and the dog cuddles in his security blanket. Put something ith your scent, swater of blanket inside the kennel.

Can't wait to hear the story about how the dog chews up the LR furniture.

Go out and rent the movie Hootch with Tom Hanks. It will remind ou what damages to expect and even so it will be worth it!

I like the way this is told from Simba's perspective. I really enjoyed it when he was talking about the "red dot" and how he could only understand certain human words. I often wonder what my animals are thinking.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. Simba is a fun cat to anticipate his thoughts. He has a very expressive face, and a range of vocalalizations. I could be totally off the mark, but I'm pretty sure I understand him about 65% of the time. Thanks for reading. ~patty~

I think this is the best of this concept. I'm a little bored with animals having human thoughts...I think it's a tired idea. Cats are more mysterious when we don't have a clue what they're thinking. Dan :00

Thank you for reading and reviewing. Simba is a pleasant animal to write about; he lays around in one place for so long, it gives me time to make up what he's thinking! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. ~patty~

I was so glad that Simba was not deserted and that his human family was returning for him. A puppy, lol, I am sure that the cats will just love him. Actually once they get used to him they probably will. I loved this littls story. great read, my friend.

Thank you for taking the time to read and review this story. I love to write about my animals - working at from their perspective is a special challenge - and treat! I hope it all works out - big part of WHY I'm taking on a puppy rather than rescuing one of the ones that got thrown out of their home - probably for eating the family cat! You can be sure that animal stories will be showing up on a regular basis for the near future. ~patty~

This is darling. I am owned by a cat myself, but I rarely have to guess at what my lord and master is thinking: sit down and make me a lap to sit on; pet me; get me my cat treats...

LOL! Thank you for reading and the generous review. Simba doesn't eat treats - he thinks people only give them out when they want something from him. Since he KNOWS he won't do anything, he wont' take the treat - at least he is honest! I appreciate your kind words. ~patty~
