I enjoyed your story. You've done a great job here. I was compelled to read on. I wanted to see where you were going with it. I liked the ending.
I love animal and I enjoy stories where the writer is "in their heads".

thank you for reading this short story about Simba. He probably had more personality and more heart than any of my cats. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Hi Patty:)
Evidently you know your cats. Simba sounds a lot like our two feline sisters, except that they have always had a life of leisure and share in everything, like good twins should.
I can imagine Simba thinking about his 'temporary' home and wondering when he will be allowed to return to his favorite family.
Poor Simba has better hearing than he thinks. When will he meet the puppy and how long will it take him to showing the puppy his place in the house. I look forward to further adventures.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. Look for the further adventures of Simba, Leo, and Harley - the new puppy coming to join us in mid-December. ~patty~

This is a good little story told from a cats point of view, however i feel your writing would be a lot stronger if it was a little less passive and involved more shoe instead of tell. ie
[Outside the world was wintry white, and there was a cold east wind blowing with gales of up to 50 miles per hour.] - This sentence is telling the reader what the weather is like.
{A cold east wind wind blew gales of up to 50 miles per hour through a wintry white world} - Shows the reader what the weather is like and pulls them into the story.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. I greatly appreciate your critique, and I do agree that the piece would sound much better written in a more active voice. Look for the further adventures of Simba, Leo, and Harley - the new puppy coming to join us in mid-December. ~patty~

I am owned by the Queen of the female cat world, at least in her own mind. She completely controls two large dogs, a black lab and a great pyrenees. I understand your story and enjoyed reading it.

Thank you for reading and your generous review. One of the best things about posting this story is getting to hear about everyone else's pets and their unique quirks! I'm glad you enjoyed Simba's story, and you can be sure there will be others to follow as Simba and Leo go home, and eventually meet the new puppy. ~patty~

I enjoyed the story of Simba, her reflection on her other life and anticipation if he was going to be reunited with her owners. I was happy there was a resolution, and with a little twist to make people wonder. A very well constructed story that kept my interest.

Great story with a wonderful pace that held my interest throughout. That ought to be worth a couple of stories, the arrival of the new puppy to Simba's world.

I love it. There is an ad on TV here in New Zealand at the moment that features a dog doing a massive homecoming, only to find he has been replaced by a cat. Very lovely story.

Thank you for reading and the generous review - the commercial must be great! I love to write about how I think Simba is feeling in a given situation. I'm sure there will be many stories of this transitional period coming over the next year. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. ~patty~

I really sweet story and the animal names are good ones. An animal more the likely does feel a lot like humans, missing people when they are away and take a little time to accept new people or animals in their homes.
