Simba's Dilemma

He could still hear the approach of what he liked to think of as his "temporary" humans, even though nine years of not hunting or living outside had affected his hearing. Gregory and Austin were home from work, and that meant food, and scratches, and good conversation and playtime. Maybe they would get the big red dot out! Simba loved to chase the dot. It took him time to understand that he was supposed to chase it and not just watch it bounce around the room, but now it was the highlight of the day, and he rarely let Mufasa chase it alone.
I could share the joy with Simba.
Always,
Aki

Oh, do you have editing woes to? God I thought it was only me LOL so lovely to read Simba's life story and I sincerely hope your homecoming was as trouble-free as we humans can make it. Great story, Sincerely Anne.

Hi; Simba was one of those cats that just had so much personality - and such a big heart. He was great, and the part about my homecoming will be posted in a few days - thank you for reading,

Simba was obviously a lovely cat also -
each have their own character. I sometimes
think that it is not us who train our animals
but they that train us humans.
Simba was certainly a black beauty. I love all animals,
but as a dog lover, have never owned a cat, altho I
do look after them when their owners are away -
they each have their own personality.
Thanks for sharing this, Patty.

A great prose and these are beautiful phrases, "all he had to do was entertain his humans by "talking" and pawing at them so they would pet his head, or scratch his belly, It took him time to understand that he was supposed to chase it and not just watch it bounce around the room". Have a great day. Namaste

I enjoyed meeting Simba and what a delightful story. You fully described his day, the normal cat day in that way that shows that you really know your pets. I love how you can put words to their possible thoughts so realistically.
This is a beautiful cat in the photo. I love that black shiny fur and his eyes are so beautiful. He is a very good looking cat. I am enjoying meeting the pets and I am loving these Pet stories.

Another cute story. Simba seems to be a special cat. I've never seen one like him. I used to have cats, but when I married a man who's allergic to them, I had to switch to small, catlike dogs. I still miss the purring. :)

This was great! I've seen a few children's books here and there speaking from an animal's perspective but not one in such a sophisticated tone and I'm a huge fan of it.

Hello, my friend,
Your cat, Simba, sounds like the Boss Cat of the household, where ever he happens to be. I like the way you described him. I will have to read more of your pet tales.

Hi Gypsy; thank you for reading about Simba. He was indeed the boss wherever he went. He took care of the puppy, too. I'm glad you're willing to read along with the stories - I hope you enjoy them,

Hi Barb; thank you so much for stopping by to read a 'Simba story.' He has several stories in the book I'm putting together. He was quite inspirational,

Poor kitty is in for a big surprise, no? I haven't ever had cats because I'm allergic, but my aunt always had one dog and two or three cats. She recognized the issues between the species enough to keep them from killing each other, but I never got how that worked. I'll be watching to see how Simba does.

Hi Marla; thank you so much for reading this story about Simba - he did okay with the puppy. I hope you will enjoy the rest of the series,
~patty~
ps; its easy to have cats and dogs - just make sure the cats are bigger and older when you introduce the dogs - they will keep them in line
