Aw, your puppy is adorably cute! He reminds me of a panda or raccoon with his differently colored eyes and ears... maybe a name could come from that, but he might change colors a bit as he gets older. Both of my dogs were abandoned at puppy stage and that is when I got them. They are the best dogs ever. so congratulations! I hope you have a lot of fun and learning with this new puppy!

Aw, your puppy is adorably cute! The narrator is clearly enamored by the new pup and expresses this quite clearly in rhymed verse. The poem's flaws are enumerated well in the author's notes and need not be noted by reviewers...If adjustments are made to correct the flaws that the need for this hasty expression of delight. a truly cute poem might emerge...still it was fun to share your enthusiasm :>)

Very cute little poem! I am an amimal lover too. The poem has good clarity and focus. The rhyme is good too. However, the meter ( rhythm ) is inconsistent within stanzas and from stanza to stanza. A poem without consistent rhyme is kind of like driving down a beautiful but bumpy road. The scenery is great but the bumps are distracting. I write decent meter. If you would like to look at some of my poems to get a better feel, be my guest. Best wishes, Bo

Thank you for the invite to look at your poems; I've also ordered a book on 40 different types of poetry, and what makes up the rhythm in each; back in high school when I wrote poetry, we worried about iambic pentameter (sp?) and I once wrote a perfect sonnet, . . .but all of that knowledge is lost. :( ~patty~

It's about a half hour from Stuggart. I had relatives from way
back that came from Baden.
Then of course I have an Irish
connection. That's the mix.

I do need to tell you though that at least for me the background red made it VERY hard to read. Maybe its just my computer (new) or my failing eyesight, but it was VERY har to see a contrast without straining.
