I've already read your cheery poem about the puppy - you certainly are set to love this dog! I hope your cats are as enthusiastic as you are. LOL Your excitement shines through every line - and he'll be home for Christmas, how exciting :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke! Thanks for reading both the poem and the story -- I'm not too sure what Simba will think; in fact, I'm working on a story from his perspective right now. Thank you for the generous review. ~patty~

What do you think of 'SCAMP' for a name?
What a lovely story about your new friend.
I have enjoyed reading about your decision to bring a new dog into your family.
I too love cats. We had two cats before we found Jet, a lab/collie cross. She was bossed a bit by the male brother cats, but they lived well together once they got used to each other. Then we found Smurf, an all white female cat. Sadly my boys died six months apart just within the past year, so Jet and Smurf are girls together. They can be quite hilarious, mothering each other.
Anyway good luck with your new friend.

Scamp sounds good, . . .because my mind's eye can see him "scampering" about. I watched 'Lady and the the Tramp' the other day, . .and I was thinking about Tramp, too -- but Scamp is a bit classier!! Thank you so much!

Will is a Jack Russell Terrier -- I've been looking at this breed for years! He met my criteria - the mask, the tricolored markings and some additional markings on the body -- I'm SO excited! Thanks for sharing my joy! To be continued Dec 17th!!

A Mask? His name should be Ranger, like The Lone Ranger. I, too, am a dog lover. I have an Aussie, she's red, green eyes and my grandson named her Blu like Blue's Clues. This Jack is gorgeous. Is this the little man? He already looks like he's ready to get into mischief but it's worth it. They are so much fun and they need love, too. I applaud you girl and take care of that baby.

Will is a Jack Russell Terrier (and YES - that is a photo of him.) -- I've been looking at this breed for years! He met my criteria - the mask, the tricolored markings and some additional markings on the body -- I'm SO excited! Thanks for sharing my joy!

You named him Will? Okay, it's a good name for a beautiful Jack.

Well, . .his kennel name is WILL - I'm still working on it! One of the writers on the site suggested "Writer," and I'm seriously considering it. Thanks for the review, and well wishes!

Oh,I love happy stories and getting a new dog is always one of those. Since you have researched and know about the breed's personalities, you should be prepared to meet his needs. My advice on adding a dog to a house with cats is they will work it out quickly on their own. Within a day or to,they will have established a pecking order and don't be surprised if the cat comes out on top.! Great luck with your new friend. Debbie

Thank you so much for reading and the generous review. I appreciate your advice - won't surprise me a bit if Simba comes out on top - he usually does in everything else!! Look for continuing adventures of this little guy after Dec 17th!

Oh, a lovely write and so happy for you. I have a cat but he is wonderful and I know how much a great pet can mean to one. Names: Sammy? Mikey? Micky? Sorry if they're not inventive enough but that's what came to mind. Otherwise there's a typo: "would resolves themselves to". Anyway, good luck to you and your puppy. How great!

Thank you for reading and reviewing - I will go and fix the typo - I appreciate you pointing it out. My last dog (10 years ago) was named Sammy, . .and I have a son named Mikey -- but Cedar - a fellow writer on the site - suggested "Writer," and I'm giving it serious thought.
