Thank you, Gungalo!! I wrote this a while ago, so it isn't/wasn't for the contest, but a poem for the hubby! Thank you for reading. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ~patty~

This is so beautiful and well written. Missing another in terms of "heart" and "spirit" covers the spectrum of love. All of this said in so few words. Very well done!

Thank you for reading and your generous review. Missing people has been a way of life for the past 30 years; seems like no matter where I am - in the physical sense - I'm not with everyone I hold dear; and as my loved ones have passed, I've been missing them, too. ~patty~

Yes, it is a short, short poem, but it says a LOT! It is heartfelt and spirited. Good verbiage choice and nice presentation. Good luck in the contest, patty...

It is written with meaning and you were been able to collect write words to deliver the idea. It is very clever of you because you could express the feeling with such few words.

With such few words used you are able to convey quite a bit about what comes across as a lover. Am I correct? I find myself out of nowhere missing someone I haven't seen in years but wishing I would've said the "right" thing. Your poem shows us we can be together in spirit, not just in flesh. Thanks for sharing.

Few words but quite a message. Isn't it something that these feelings from loved ones come out of the blue when we are engaged in doing other things? Great feelings and a good message from you.

I can picture the missed one being in the military and the narrator wishing to fly to him, if only in spirit. I have a bit of a problem with the image of a heart speaking, even poetically. I could see a soul having much to say, especially with the use of the second line's spirit. For that reason, I feel obliged to give only four stars.

This certainly qualifies as a short love poem. Only lovers speak to one another with their hearts. Thinking of the lover, the speaker's spirit "flies". A very effective word here suggesting longing for togetherness. The speaker's heart has a message - perhaps it's overflowing with love which cannot be contained. A very expressive poem.
