Stunning imagery and characterization place the reader next to Running Deer during the chase. The storyline is a real beauty. This is a superb story my friend. You have the cadence and tone perfect, in my mind, for the relating of the Native American life and adventures of the young Brave. A great story told with obvious love and passion leading to the perfect ending. Fantastic read! Warmest regards, Bev

What a great story of how we use to live and grow. From very early on in age life was all about developing strength, character, empathy for our animal allies, autonomy, visions, responsibility, pride in spirit, and much, much more. Compare that kind of self-identity motivation to what is available to our youth today in this modern age of self-gratification. SAD!!!

A terrific story told with vivid descriptions! I was cheering the big stallion on, so I was so happy when the new colt was the horse he desired. I adore horse stories, and I really enjoyed this one!

Wild horse herds still roam the American Plains. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for an easy read. There is very good imagery.

Susan,

So the young lad never caught the stallion but still found what he needed. I enjoyed this story and found one nit:

"Silently, he guarded the mare as she finally laid [lay] down, her belly bulging with new life."

Very enjoyable story, again shows how much you know about horses and also Native Americans. You have such good story-telling skills.

Hope you are getting packed and getting some rest! Hugs, Debbie
