If either candidate in in question I will have to disagree with you. Both are people who make friends here and abroad for their abilities. I don't think anyone voted against Obama who really understood the bind that America has put itself into to stay on top of our own economy and the world in a way that is competitive and fair to most.

Hi Alan - it was written tongue in cheek and hopefully with irony.

I guess I am too sensitive to the results of the election so I messed the irony. Sorry

This is a great piece. I got a good laugh from
this one. That picture really sets it off. Good
luck in the contest, I think you have a winner here.

LOL that is a bit mean, I thought Obama had plenty of friends, so you don't think he is going to win this next election then. Or you looking forward to seeing a woman in power. : )

Not really meant to be mean, just a touch of irony. I think both characters are capable, but no love lost!

Hi M - my politics are actually pretty strange. I just voted here in the U.S., and my vote was pretty split as I tend to really try and understand the candidates. Saying that, I must admit that I don't mind women on top. LOL Bill

I take it this is something to do with your recent elections or whatever you call them in the USA. I read the papers that Mr. Obama wasn't a happy man. This poem centers around that and it is well written, plus it flows so well is concise and has a good dialogue. A most creative piece which has come over very well, for an Englishman to understand it!

Thanks V - he wasn't a happy man and no love lost between he and the other character in the pix, Hilary Clinton.

Bill,

I laughed out loud at this one. It does exactly what humor poetry is supposed to do. Well done and good luck in the contest.

Thanks Duane - I'm afraid I stepped on some toes, but written tongue in cheek and intended as humor. Regards, Bill

Think nothing of it. Politics is a hot potato no matter what. Guess I revealed where my loyalty lies.

Hmmm.. American political humour. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say. The poem is well constructed and I imagine you're being sarcastic (correct me if I'm wrong 'cause I'm Canadian and not finely tuned into the ways of the US political system). Is the implication that Ms. Clinton, having lost to Obama is rather happy with the outcome of the elections? Anyway, nice poem; great picture.

bhogg,

That's the problem in politics..if things are good, you'v e got friends you didn't know you had...and when things are bad, regardless who did it, you get the blame and your friends are no where to be found.

It's lonely at the top....

Boy, these three lines speak volumes. Your picture really framed your word on this one. When you fall friends will help you, if you can find one. This was a great read. I enjoyed this very much.
