What a wonderful story. Since I recently gave you a six, but system won't allow another. There are many things I like about your writing, but two really stand out. The first is pace and the second is your editing. I've learned a lot from your work! Warm regards, Bill

What a lovely, touching
story. And what an
insensitive coward her husband
is, to leave her at such a time.
But love will find a way....

So good to hear you are coping - you must respect
the fact that you need to rest, my friend.

Wonderful story! I know where it originated, I'm interested to see where it goes. It would take and utter fool to reject someone because of the results of breast surgery, but there are a lot of utter fools out there.
Glad to hear you're doing as well as you are. Rest is a good thing although I have a problem with it myself. The good thing is that the mind can still work while the body recoups.

That is true and since I am an ADHD adult my mind never stops. If only my body would follow. Thank you for the kind review.

Hi Barbara, this is an excellent short story. It's well written right from the beginning. Both human characters are likable as well as the dog. I never had a Great Pyrenees but I've met a few and they are great dogs. I didn't see any spag or anything to change.

Good story, Barbara. Glad things are going so well for you.

"I think he liked you from the beginning[. T]hat's why he tried to herd you toward his house."

Even after reconstructive surgery[,] my husband couldn't stand looking at my body."

Wow a quick jump into a relationship but other than that the story is very good.

Not sure I know this type of dog but I will Google it to see what it is like, The biggest dog I ever saw was on a farm it was a old hunting dog, I think they originated in Switzerland or some where like that.

The pyre is from the Alps of France. They were used to herd sheep and goats. Ours just herds our black lab. It's funny to watch.

Hi Barbara,

This is a fine story and it has an uplifting ending that I really like. I am so glad you survived your chemo so well...I just know you will do fine. Those aren't scars, they are life line. Trust me I know. You usual skill has an author comes through loud and clear in this piece. I know you will be tired throughout your treatments but that just gives you a reason to sit and write! Well done....blessings, chey

This is a very touching and moving piece. I enjoyed it very much. It has the makings of a good part 2 follow up. I have to admit, dogs are a great way to meet people. Ray aka krylon

My boy have used dogs on occasion to meet girls. My oldest was 16 years old when my youngest son was born. Babies are also great snags for girls too. thanks for the great review.

Barbara, how wonderful to have you back ... and writing ! This is a wonderful, uplifting story which is very well penned. Easy flowing narrative and clear, sharp dialogue. Found no spag errors. I only wish you would have developed further the dynamics between Eli and Jasmine during their dinner - it seemed somewhat hasty. Nonetheless, it's still a great write, my friend. The pyre's artwork is a perfect match (they are incredibly wonderful pets and companions). Very well done, my friend.
