Hi Kay,
I stood on the shore and marveled at this fabulous bridge! I am so glad I came to the land of OZ. The words in your poem take me back and the scene comes alive in my mind once again. There is so much to like about this piece. The words, the rhyme, the theme and of course the gentle flow. You have penned such delicious lines. I have one six left for you. Blessings, chey

Bless you Chey; so glad you got to see our Habour Bridge, smell the salt spray and marvel at one of the Wonders of the World. Cheers, Kay.

I had to read the first two lines several times before the metaphor became clear. I like the tone and cadence of this piece. The third stanza is the best and I felt that it really captured a taste of the Harbour (although I've never been there).

Thank you so much for reviewing; Sydney will always live in my childhood memories. I live in Queensland and I still miss Sydney Harbour. Cheers, Kay.

This is such a lovely tribute to a place that you know well. I can see the harbor through your eyes and understand the pain that was suffered on the island. The poem has good rhythm and flow. I like your rhyming pattern. ann

Now, this is one place I've never been, but hope to visit one day. Thanks for the virtual visit tonight. Your poem has a beautiful flow to it, brought about by the rhyme scheme you've chosen. Some of the images are absolutely breathtaking. I especially like the description of the lights of various colours shining on the water as darkness falls. Very well done.

Sydney Harbour is a beautiful place, I have only been to Sydney once, but it was enough to see why people cherish the harbour. I enjoyed the write, seeing it from the eyes of the harbour itself. Well done!

This is beautiful, even to someone like me, a stranger to this place you are painting. It is a love affair with a place. The last four lines are my favorite. They go beyond place to essence and existence.

And so you were able to smell the salty air, hear the sea gulls and watch the sun glint on the deep waters? Thanks so much. Cheers, Kay.
