yeah also if Micaela was raped i would be heartbroken because i knew she wanted to lose her virginity to someone she loved (like me). But also if sh egot raped and got pregnant and decided to not abort the baby and keep it i would act as the father and treat him/her as if he/she was my own son/daughter. Also, i woudl be terrified if i was raped (it can happen, im weaker then most guys and girls) not only because i woudl have my virginity forcibly taken form me but because i would have a hard time looking micaela in the eyes again. especially if i was raped by a girl. I would be basically screaming in terror, full of shame.

Also i hate it when people call a girl a slut because she got raped. That she "enjoyed it" and was "asking for it" What a load of bull f***ing s***. Same thing with a guy getting raped by a girl, saying he is "a lucky b******" especially if the girl is "hot". I sometimes wonder why i haven't lost faith in this world

Intense and emotive. And you are right that it happens everyday and often it is not even reported because of the shame and self-doubt associated with it. As i know you have read about Yun Hi, you realize I have confronted the aftermath of the the spectre of rape in real life. But you do not know that was not the only time. This was a very necessary poem. I hope others outside of this community have a chance to read it. Thank you for sharing it.

As i know you have read about Yun Hi, you realize I have confronted the aftermath of the the spectre of rape in real life. But you do not know that was not the only time. This was a very necessary poem. I hope others outside of this community have a chance to read it. Thank you for sharing it.

yes, this is quite a dark sonnet, for it does happen somewhere, everyday.. and when it is not happening, just the fear of it happening can easily surround us. Even with training and awareness, sometimes it doesn't help and doesn't matter - it is sometimes worthless (though, of course, it is beneficial more often than not). I know just the fear of that happening someday is one many have to deal with.
Though dark and sad, tragic and horrific, this is very well written, so the reader focuses on the message, not stumbling at one place. Great rhymes, nice touches of alliteration (and reverse syntax), smooth meter, and excellent word choices to relate the horror of this crime.
Stark quatrains, and a powerful couplet - all full of images from this scene. The reader can feel the raw and painful emotions evoked from this.. All the best, Jen
