I am so glad I came across you on this site, you are one of the very best on here! to write about this kind of ordeal is brave and challenging, you have done an absolutely marvellous job of the terrible attack that people have faced. The feelings I had through reading this were mixed, I felt disgusted/angry/sympathetic/worried, and for that reason, I give you a six. This poem pulled so many feelings, also the imagery of that dark alley where an innocence lies is very fitting for your dark true and horrifying writing. SUPERB : )

Oh My Goodness Pam! I felt horrified and was is tears be the time I reached the end of this short poem. What a wonderful poem; this Sonnet has perfect rhyme and rhythm. And it has a flow that is smooth. Even though it was dreadful, I liked this poem...Katz

A very poignant theme, it does happen to often. The last line is a strong image that I took with me after reading. Nice work!

Such an upsetting piece of writing to read; rhymed and metered flawlessly to deliver the horrifying message about rape and its victims. Conveyed in such a way, that the reader actually squirms ... excellent job

Gungalo,

Your sonnet that was inspired by Yeat's Leda and the
Swan is well written. This does happen all too much.

Your ending is very impacting:

"In shame, this virgin now in silence cries,

her innocence upon a dark street lies."

You have presented a brutish rape with stark reality and the violence of the act infects the words and form used to describe it as it does the lives of those who have experienced it.

Well, despite this being such a dark piece I am yet to read such a vivid and rivetting Sonnet...beautifully written but very graphic and you put the reader in the empathy shoes straight up.
This was a most perfect write and I think the best one I have read this week...well done, vivid, confronting, poignant, graphic, rivetting, tragic, saddest of all...true.
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good...infact kudos to you my new and very clever friend.

ps. Enjoy my last six for the week Gungalo...thoroughly deserved...the last one means the most cos I hang on until I see brilliance and this reeks of a six...can't say well done enough times.
Think I will book mark it too.
Many thanks for sharing such a harrowing and believable write.

What a truly gripping poem. I am amazed that you could make such a horrific devastating crime into a well flowing piece of poetry. You do this without losing the seriousness and horrid brutality of this "taking." As an attorney who has both prosecuted and defended, I can say you have put into graphic yet gripping words that of which most cannot speak. This is so very, very well done. I wish I could say more, but I am in awe of your talent here.

Thank you very much for this review. Some times, just some times, we have to go past the norm and out into reality ... for the sake of all.

So true! If we want to change or confront something happening witin society we have to be willing to talk and write about these issues. Great job!

Yes, unfortunately everyday, often, somewhere, beasts lurk.
Shoot the pricks i say.
I know someone close who i have not seen for some time she had this innocence taken from her by a family member, he died in jail.
Good eh!
Risky use of Sate.
It sits in well tho.
Good rhyme in this dark poem.
