You have the reader on the edge of our seat. We are as worried about Cassie as your characters are. Because of your fine writing the reader is so engaged that we become part of the novel. I am awaiting your next post!

I love the little comic relief at the end about orange and being under duress. LOL You do such a great job, Barbara, of showing the frantic state of mind of Sara and the huge NEED Joe has of finding Cassie and protecting the woman he loves.
Lots of emotionally charged dialogue and inner monologue in this dramatic chapter. Brooke

    Thank you Brooke, for your kind review. I am worried that some of my reviewers will get upset because I am going to have Sara paint as a destressor. I actually had a very close friend, who every time her husband was deployed she painted her house. Sometimes more than once.

    I say, whatever works for a person, go for it - it seems realistic to me and certainly doesn't make her seem like she doesn't care enough. Lots of people try to do something other than just non-stop pacing and crying.

    I had another friend who moved furniture. When the kids came home from school they never knew where their bedrooms might be. It's better than drinking and running around. Many wives do that.
