This, of all th epostings I've read on FanStory, should be read by everyone. I really like the seven characteristics. We've all seen it in people.

What a lovely story - and I like the message you have drawn out from it. How true - that we look at the actions of others, and the reactions of others to what we do, and an important reminder to take responsibility for our own choices, and be aware that others notice (and may copy) what we do.

I love the way you use this delightful anecdote about Lexi's party and cake testing and spin such a meaningful spiritual message from it, Jan - as always, your writing is both thoughtful and engaging in good balance. Brooke :-)

thanks, Brooke -- you are always so supportive -- the discernment, however, is a gift from God -- I am merely His vessel -- love, jan

Hi Rdfrdmom2

Interesting thoughts there on the subject of sin. Unfortunately it does go with our freedom of choice and we are always faced with the choice between choosing to sin - which may bring fun, pleasure or something we have long desired - and not doing so. To say that we have no option but to sin is ridiculous.

yes, I agree with you absolutely -- God gave us free will so we can choose Him instead of being His little robots -- may be a thought for my next writing -- love, jan

Feel free, I shall look out for it. People get very confused over "Original Sin" which is really only about our disobedience to God.

Hi, Rdfrdmom2.

Should I say Nanny Jan? I love those first birthdays. I doubt that Lexi will get to do this on her second birthday. Did you get a picture of Lexi, too? I pray that you will have many more years to add things to Lexi's book. This is all good advice. I hope she will one day follow your advice. I am sure others will too.

took a gazillion pictures that day but my daughter doesn't want her pic on the Internet which I understand fully -- when I do her book to give her, I will have pictures of her to go with it -- thanks for your review. love, jan

These are some very meaningful insights which you share with us and with your granddaughter when she is old enough to understand. You are so right about how we fall into sin so gradually. I like the fact that because of Christ we are not doomed to sin from now on. It is a beautiful message.

I prefer to think that people have choices whether they believe in god or not and also whether they choose to sin. To me a sin is something bad, not having a lot of cake.
Though I think I know what the message is you want people to see.

Marcii: I don't think cake is sinful at all unless we become gluttons -- I was just trying to point out what I learned from watching her approach to eating the cake -- thanks for your insight -- love, jan

I am getting better, Teri7. I still tire very easily, partially because I'm anemic and partially because it's going to take a good while to recover totally -- however, I am not complaining -- thanks for your kind review. love, jan
