Pretty scary, Snod. I was feeling the claustrophobia myself in the last paragraph. You built up the tension very well, while giving the background story. It's a fun read. Just keep them coming.

I like this, it is the first chapter I have read from this book, but I found I slotted right into the story. It had me gripped and I enjoyed your easily undesrtandable writing style thoroughly.
I did, however, find this a little difficult to understand (but that might just be me?):
' "Go." The line went dead. No 'Everything will be all right'. No 'Good Luck'. Laura squared her shoulders. Well, that obviously meant he had every confidence in her. She was now a peer.
Sure.
That's what that meant.'
Nice suspenseful point to leave the story.
