What a hopeful message you deliver to us with this poem! There is always something good even when all we see is empty and hopeless. Written with an eye to sharing this beautiful refrain of hope, it is pleasant to read and to re-read, and to hope for the ability to take your advice.
"Sing genial songs with cheerful strains" is not so easy to do when a heart is full of sorrow, but it certainly is worth striving toward.

We all need to be reminded to look on the bright side. Your poem does that very well. Good comes even from great sorrow, and what we may perceive as a problem often has blessings tucked inside. Wonderful use of form you are such a skillful, talented writer!

I really love this poem, and the repeated line:
'From every raindrop springs a rose'
which makes up a refrain. It has a beautiful message that despite the pain that we all experience in life - there is hope.
Just lovely. I have added this to my bookcase - as I would like to read it often!

Thank you, JoAnna - I love the Kyrielle form due to the repeating line, so I am most pleased you like my repeating line :-) Your generosity is most appreciated :-) Brooke

I probably like this one because it is so close in spirit to one that I wrote - two actually. One that you have already reviewed, "Spirit Reveals," and one that you haven't called "High Dessert Storms." I enjoyed this one very much.

Brooke, once again you have a double meaning in your poetry. I have to say that you must be a perpetual optimist, because I read this in every poem that I read of yours. And what a wonderful way to be! So let's not worry about the rain, or sad refrains, or allow sorrow to reign, because from every raindrop springs a rose. What a great refrain line, and I love this kyrielle. . .Sharon

Thanks so much, Sharon :-) I was born an optimist. I see reality, believe me, but I always hope the bad can be made better with enough fight. LOL Brooke

Okay...I'm sated. No one on the road is left
alive...that's called 'road hash' by sports
illiterates throughout the world.
Now I'm here, I'm ready and willing. But
above me are notes...Virgin Mary...French
poetic...Medieval times. Scroll back...
distracting photo, thematic or not...
from every raindrop does not spring a rose,
silly...oh well, you've ruined it for me...
if 'from every rain drop' sprung a rose
we'd have 100 million trillion roses
where I live alone, not to mention the
rest of Afghanistan...and how could we grow
our opium with all these useless roses
popping up on every square inch of our
land? You're poem is full of romantic
simplety or simili or simile, I think,
but for us in poor country rose does not
cut it, dear. fish

Thanks, Fish - I hope you did not think I actually thought there were a bazillion roses after every rainfall - sorry the hyperbole did not work for you, my friend. Not sure why a picture of a rose is distracting, but hey, we all see the world in different ways - it's what makes life and people interesting. LOL Brooke :-)

Love your work Brooke. You sound like an optimist (I am), your work is full of light, happy chords. It was a delight to read. I adore roses and this picture supporting your work is a stunner! Great rhyming throughout. Hugs Frances

Hi Brooke,
Stunning art work to match your poetry and a lovely Kyrielle it is. It is true that we should appreciate the rain along with the sunshine in our lives. A very inspirational poem. Thank you for sharing.

We met one scorching summer day
twixt sultry sun and drifting hay,
for when, both lost, we'd paused to pray
the sun came out to light our path.
We led two seperate, joyful lives
but stayed in touch by pen and strive
and when to meet we did connive,
the sun came out to light our path.
We met to pen our epitaths
upon our cold lives' aftermath
and when we merged beneath the hearth,
the sun came out to light our path.

When I pause to read one of your
creations it is like sunlight on
a cloudy, bleak day, and as your
words wind their way down the screen
in beautiful harmony and rhythm it
sets the heart aglow with the beauty
of the words depicting the glory of
the peerless rose.
Well done
