Not that's funny! Even with the profanity.
>
Anything less would be unrealistic. 'Gosh darn' just wouldn't do it.
>
Obviously, Girard wasn't paying attention. hahahaha

Hahaha, "like a dead Pekingese", he said.
That's funny right there, I don't care WHO you are!
Me thinks Girard may not be ready for Prime Time just yet.
Oh well, everything takes time and practice makes perfect, or so it's been said.
Hilarious stuff, Bob!

This one-hundred-word story, Audition, is a hoot. I guess Girard's improvised line wasn't exactly what the director had in mind. There is a lot of extra information that deepens the character here, which is useful in understanding Girard's state of mind. The description of the wig sets the wickedly humorous tone for the reader. Love the last line; so funny.

Comment from Gloria ....
HAHA, this is hilarious, Bob. I should say they stop writing these scripts with so many difficult to learn lines that just don't come off as natural. LOL.
I can see why this beauty won, it got a good laugh out of me.

The ending made me laugh, great job! Despite the brevity of the piece you still managed to convey a lot about the main character, establish a more sombre background and make the reader smile and relate to the main character. Excellent piece.

Typically excellent. wrote a short story about a twelve-year-old Carol getting her head stuck in a cannon. She was not pleased, but it got a lot of reviews.

When I am having a "down" day I admit I sometimes turn to You-Tube and inevitable type in "bloopers"--most often for a classic movie because to see those "idols" fall out of place and out of character makes me laugh. Your story did the same thing! --Karenina

A most creative post Bob, the subtlety o delivery was excellent, the chemotherapeutic must have really jangled his nerves, you'd think he'd be impervious to a blast, but he found the right script to follow, we'll done, blessings, Roy

Yes stage fright can blank out almost anything, except the reaction when a cannon roars, very well written and very deserving of your win, loved the ending****kahpot

I have been in plays before and at first, it was kind of scary. You plan and plan and rehearse and still when it is in the moment so many unsuspecting things can happen.
