Writer,

Knowing that I would freeze like a statue when placed in front of a crowd...I can relate very well to Girard's stage fright. short and direct...

This just cracked me up! Yes, stage fright can definitely mess you up. Great job with this contest. When I saw the 100 word dash title I knew immediately it was not for me and decided to leave it to those far more capable. I think this is great. Very nice work and thanks for using my painting to illustrate this.

Mystery Author.............. oops, what a horrible experience and oh,how numbing can stage fright be. I had to chuckle that he botched it so badly. Such a simple task and oops.... Very good contender for the contest. Good luck.

This really made me chuckle, my friend. Your writing is great--the right words chosen to complete the short story. Good luck in the contest. I'm sure you'll do well.

The imagery in this short story is just wonderful. I could just picture this guy in my head. I also could hear him delivering this great line. I think his acting career will be short lived. Good luck in the contest. Nice entry, Shirley

Hello author
You have a very nupset actor and besides he sounds like death itself with his bald head, his pasty thin lips
I'm glad he got over his stage fright with the sudden roar
Very humorous when he said,

What the (hell was that) sounds like he definitely was snapped out of his deep stage fright.

This is funny. I don't use quite this kind of language, but I really identify with the poor stage-frightened guy's reaction to the cannon and may have said something similar. And I like the clever description of the tossed-aside wig that lay in the corner "like a dead Pekingese." Best wishes to you, Jeanie Mercer

The director reminding Gerard about the cannon is a good clue that the director sees his stage freight. Seems like a reasonable response to a loud noise like that. Good flash fiction with tight writing.

Ha-ha, poor contemporary would-be artist. How could he remember the ancient line when he is so nervous? You have caught stage fright very well, Author. Interesting 100-dash.

Brilliant. Not because of the f-bomb, but because I understood the character. I can just imagine some of the audience thinking the same thing after the cannon roared. Great imagery and description. All the best in the contest.
