I love this man. You have made him strong and sensitve at the same time. He is strong enough to protect her but gentle enough to polish her nails. You did a great job of creating a character.

Great Chapter, Barbara. Joe is being quite the gentlemen and providing the emotional support Sara needs. Your build up chapters were great for setting up how emotionally fragile she was and the struggles she's had in the small town.

I love this chapter. I can picture it all so clearly. I have a major story-crush on Joe. Wowsie. He's a doll.
When Joe asked Sara if she did a dance when she received the flowers, I laughed out loud.
The yummy kiss was delicious!
I can't wait to see what else happens at this dance. I predict some kind of trouble. People can be so judgmental and mean.
Fabulous writing. A page-turner, so to speak. A joy to read.

From reading the summary, her brother was Joe's best friend and he was killed during Desert Storm. The reason he is doing all this for her is probably shown in an earlier chapters.

You deserve wonderful reviews because the is a wonderful story, written very well. I like the way you let us read what he is thinking. Its different and the style you use when you do it, is very good. I enjoy the emotions and they are really felt by the reader.
