Hi Barb,

Good poem, well thought out with strong emotion.
Yes, it is a shame such a waste and many have and will continue to suffer the effects of this diaster. I am hoping someone out there will hear your voice and things will start happening. Thank you for sharing.

Becky

I prefer to review the first section of your poem before the political commentary : -) I really like your descriptive detail, Barbara - the alliteration of scum strewn, the slant rhyme of strewn/goo - this is powerful description, easy to visualize and powerful in its indictment of this horrid tragedy. Brooke :-)

Another well written piece that comes directly from your heart and is well said. I am so glad I didn't vote for him and early on I said that, well, he is the President and we should get in his corner. Now I wish the corner could get him out of office, such a baffoon. Looking forward to your next piece to rile me up again. What can we do?

Your poem sizzles with anger at the waste; the waste of time, the waste of animal life, and yeah, why did we elect him in the first place? Well, Hindsight is 20/20, and it is to be hoped that voting Americans have learned a lesson. Good and forceful stanzas. (I think, in your Author Notes, you left out "should have been" before 'offered long etc., or else to explain who offered this assistance, and why it was not utilized; somewhat confusing for me.)
Best to you, and happy July!- Marcella

Very evocative and effective work of a perrenial problem. OIL! the insatiable greed and complacency of another's distress is too well known to be dismissed. It is happening all the time. The eco balance is destroyed. Birds and animals die in agony. Too horrific for words as you write. And "the blame is set for yet another distraction---". Maybe some one out there is listening. Some one who cares? Gooloom

A thoughtful poem with a very strong feeling, you have clearly written your disgust at the 'inept demi-god'
The rhythm flows smoothly and like water moving and it is a good read, thankyou :)

Wow. Yeah, that's a heavy piece. It's such an unfathomable disaster that is taking place, and you have to wonder why things seem to be going in circles. And yes, we should have been bringing the skimmers in from everywhere RIGHT AWAY! Very good points made in a great poetic flow. I could almost see the conductor's wand at the end, and the entire symphony anxiously awaiting the coda.

Yes it is and so much could have been avoided. Help was offered three days after the spill. Our President had important business then. GOLF. Blessings and thank you so much for your kind words. Barbara
