Again, very well written. I like the artwork and agree that it expresses the small town environment. The chapter definately flows and is easy to continue reading.

You have done a good job of setting up the characters, Sara as a slightly traumatized woman with a good heart and low self esteem and Joe, who carries himself with confidence, almost cocky. I find myself wondering about his thoughts when he is away from her. I'd like to see more into his mind, since he is the pursuer. Nice work!

Barbara, things are progressing I see. I need to tell you, before I forget. This is only the second half of the first chapter and Sara has chewed her bottom lip a lot. You may want to take a look at that. I really stood out to me. Now, let me get on with the review. This is a GOOD STORY! Geez, Barbara, where do you keep getting these hot guys to write about? lol. Joe's intention to make Sara a "respectable" woman is starting to shine through. hehe. I did not see any spag at all. I grinned at the part of Sara being a pesky kid, but in reality, she had a crush on Joe. I could just picture that!
Okay, off to the next part.

Another wonderfully flawless chapter. At first when Sara referred to herself as the town slut, I thought "wow, she's got hang up's" but then remembering the time frame, things have changed dramatically/ also the small town ... I feel bad for her though, I'm glad Joe is a bigger person than most.

This is a great chapter and the story is moving along nicely. It's interesting to note how different attitudes are in small towns. In a large city single motherhood is quite the the 'norm' yet in a small town sarah feels she is a slut for not being married. You have captured the essence of small town life well here.

Joe is a real sweetheart.
Suggestions:
He hesitated, the said, "I care." (I think you meant 'then said', but either way, I think you should omit it... He hesitated. "I care.")
She bit her lower lip and then looked at her watch (omit 'then')

Great story, you're doing a very good job so far. I liked the way you put a little bit of everything in this story. Good character development, flowing dialogue that moves the drama right along, and this is what keeps the interest growing.
