I love the casual small time feel. Could use a bit more visual context as to the main characters speaking and the yard, location etc.

Great way to start a book. Your grammar and punctuation are perfect. You did a great job describing your characters and setting the scene for the rest of the book. Truly written like a professional. Can't wait to continue reading.

This first chapter captured my attention from the beginning to the end. It flowed smoothly and has set the foundation for an exciting interaction with the main characters. I believe the writer is doing an excellent job because I have developed an appetite to have more. Thanks.

I enjoyed this opening chapter. I think it introduced the characters well and followed a good pace. A couple of times the dialogue and/or characters actions seemed alittle forced, but I can't remember specifically, so it must not have left that severe an impression with me. And that might just be me. You seem to have a natural flow to your writing otherwise and I look forward to reading more!

Cute start to what looks like a romance. What i like so far is the tomboy in Cassie. And the conversation between cassies mom and Joe.
When Jeos mom remembered her cookies, I would have thought she would have made more of a fuss as mothers do.
Cant wait to read part two

I enjoyed how there was an immediate connection between Sara and Joe. I later learned that he was her brother's best friend. This added to the enjoyment of the reading.
My favorite part was toward the end of this chapter when Joe wants to know who Cassie's father is. Love the mystery of it. Can't wait until I have time to read more. Well done Barbara. Thank you for such an enjoyable story. It can only get better.
