Gary, my old eyes cannot handle dark blue on gray. I had to highlight to read. This is very well written with very good imagery and descriptive scheme.

Hi GW,

I can't imagine being in a war, being beaten and stripped of all dignity. What little my husband told me about Korea was horrible and difficult to imagine. I enjoyed this story as it sounds so real. In your second line..do you mean 'carry' instead of 'carrie?' Well done, chey

A chilling story to which all of us need to pay attention. My son and daughter-in-law are both in military service and I cringe at the very thought of either of them or any other human being facing this type of experience. My daughter-in-law was stationed in Iraq last year and my son will be going in March 2011. God bless all of those who sacrifice themselves for our country. Thanks for writing this.
Blessings,
Jane Westerfield

Your descriptions were very vivid and your short story brought your point across very well. I guess I am not sure why any human needs to be treated this way.

A horrible, all-to-true scenario from VietNam to the present day deployments in the Middle East. I know the Israelis have women soldiers, but I wouldn't want to be one of them.

I appreciate so much everyday the soldiers who put their lives on the line for freedom. The details in this are so crisp that the hairs on the back of my head stood up. It is hard enough for the men in this situation but we know what would happen to the women. ann

Interesting prose with deep emotional impact. You do a good job of shocking the reader. However, it does read a bit more like a series of facts than a poem or story. "Hopping" should probably be "hoping". You've done a good job of describing something that is truly horrific. This piece has great potential.

It breaks my heart to see the conditions our soldiers have always served under. Now, to put women in this scenario you have painted here, I just can't imagine it.
