Hullo Deepwater ...

This is a great tribute to your dear Grandmother and also to all the people of Jersey who lived under German occupation during the War. Being British, they not only endured the hardships and survived but did so with great good humour which is what I gathered when seeing a film about those years on Jersey.
Thank you for sharing this with us. There is nothing to suggest changing in your free-thought writing.
With love from ..... Nanette Mary.

I've read several of your other poems, but I like this the best. Strong women can endow the genetic line with a character that may also be tested, but know how to stand strong. Good story, good poetry, very nice work.

A beautiful tribute to one who
will never be forgotten. Your
words, though free style, read
as if each word were cobbled to
the next in some enchanting rhyme.
A work of art that will remain a
mural that all who knew old gram
will stop to look at for the rest
of their days.
Well done

This is a lovely tribute to your grandmother, and is full of love. Her legacy will live on as many others have. Well written, smooth flow, and wonderful message.

You've kept this simple, and all the more emotionally impactful for it. It's hard to imagine such strength of will and character in the modern age. Beautifully written.

I am positive that Gram enjoyed this poem
as much as I did. It is wonderful of you
to remember her and what she lived through
in her lifetime. It is quite legacy she
left. Her being missed by you all is a sure
sign that she made a lot of memories in her
lifetime, enough to endure hardships during
those hard times. Everyone needs to be remembered
for something. I am so happy that you gave her this
tribute.

This is the best, excellent poem I have ever read, it reminded me of the most wonderful times I had when my in laws. My mother in law is passed on, but she was in Germany during the invasion. This is great

This well written piece tells of "gram's" endurance during a horrendous era of war, imprisonment, degradation where she did her best to help others. It well depicts the coming of peace and reconstruction. And with tears of sorry, "we miss you, Dear old gram. This poem flows well caring the reader smoothly from beginning to end.

It's a beautiful poem, and the story is wonderful. Human suffering always tends to bring out the most amazing qualities in good people. Sounds like your Gram was a wonderful lady. Thank you for sharing this poem.
