I found your poem very touching and well written. It tells a whole story, and in effect introduces us all to this wonderful strong woman.
Despite her difficult life, in the end the sun came out, and she was able to leave a legacy of wonderful grandchildren, one of whom would write this lovely tribute to her memory. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I searched the Channel Islands and found out that it is just a small group of islands of the coast of France. It must have been very scary for your grandmother to endure the Nazis.
I was wondering of this line:
Defending the meek and supporting the weak
Did she help Jews hide from the Nazis?

Very touching! So many selfless people in earlier generations. No room for bitterness, she used what she had learned to help others. What a wonderful woman she must have been. You really deserve the "All Time Best" award.
