I really enjoy your style of poetry. It is so different from mine. I am so inspired by your rhythm and word choices, I hope to learn your work more and more.
The first stanza of this piece is just lovely. The use of the word "timpani" is especially nice when read out loud( I thought you spelled "timpani" wrong until I found out there are two correct spellings of the word, also "tympani") . In actuality All of your work is best enjoyed read out loud I believe. Blessings.

I enjoy the philosophical ponderings and the vivid environment created by your frequent use of adjectives. The choice of words form a lyrical music by its use of internal rhyme - "days amaze", "days place" and the alliteration of "pulsing power", "softer skies", "shifting skies" creates a smooth, rolling landscape in which time changes its features daily. The metaphorical relationship between the abstract of poetry and a concretely visible and audible environment in which life is its own entity is wonderfully illustrated, allowing the reader a sensory experience of poetry and an appreciation for its many moods and faces.

This is simply beautiful, Brooke. I love the juxtaposition of turbulent versus calm as a metaphor for life, and then the last paragraph wraps it all up nicely.

Oh so true, Brooke. I love your analogy of the skies and seas with poetry. They're forever changing and nothing is ever the same again. It's wonderful how we never seem to run out verses to write about and every poem is so different. Very well written, and I enjoyed reading this. . .Sharon

And it does change like that.. I enjoyed this, the flow and rhyme. I like how in such a short poem it changed so dramatically.. Well done!

adewpearl,
Skies, seas, weather changes - all the stuff of poetry. Never at a loss for subject matter. Just look around. Well done.

Comment from Lena Borghi
Another beautiful piece on which to feast our senses. I love the play on words at the end of the first quatrain and the allegory of the lullaby and symphony for the seas, calm or rowdy. So true also the comparison of life and the sea. This is a very thoughtful contemplation and the selected artwork complements it perfectly. Lena
