It rhymed and flowed very well. I do love the poems like this, a story to tell. I think you might want to change "simply man" to "simple Man" Other than that, it was great. Well done!

Well I would be glad if somebody would bring me out there. I'm was born and raised in a big city and I would love the land, the solitude, and the peace of it all. I feel the lonliness of this man in this poem and my heart goes out to him.

Such a moving illustration of a life; the courage to carry on when pain could overwhelm one. The solace we can find in our daily routine, done well. And of course the people that we know will always be there for us. Really enjoyed this

Hi deepwater,

I wrote a poem about riding, which is just called "Riding" If you go to my profile it is on the second page, if you would like to read it. It has much the same theme, riding always gave me peace. I hope the part about the cowboy's wife isn't about you. You have a nice rhyme which pulls the lines down the page with ease. Very good. chey

Very nice poem. I enjoyed reading it. It was honest and deep. I see it was also recognized. Great job, keep up the good work. Thanks, Kristy.

Your second poem that I've read today. You have a natural and free style that is just easy to read. I thoroughly enjoyed this - not as much as COWBOY UP, but pretty darn close!

How desperately sad! Such a story in a well written poem. You have a talent, my friend. I can find no fault whatever. I've really enjoyed reading.

Warm wishes

I liked this over all piece of poetry. I found it to have a good rhythm in its lines of thoughts. You do need to be careful with ending successive lines with the same word. This can be a distraction when reading a piece of poetry. In this piece you have over done this aspect of the poem. I still enjoyed this piece and found it to be a very entertaining piece of poetic art to have read and written a review for... John

Unless there's an affinity for the land, it's hard to understand the attraction. I gather this is a true-life experience.

4th last line - swat/sweat.

Have a great day, hugs Mia
