lol. I suspect the rules have changed. But at least you played when the game was still exciting. Good art and color to match the mood. Best of luck.

I am confused by bussed him twice. You drove a bus he was on twice, you are the busgirl or busboy at a restaurant and you bussed him twice. I am just curious. I enjoyed the poem. Thanks.

buss is an old fashioned synonym for kiss, just like smooch is - thanks, Frank, for reviewing :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,

It probably means something very different now, but, who cares, it was fun back in them old days weren't it. It reads well and evokes some fun memories.

Brooke,

great contest entry. I dont know what 'bussed' means spelled this way, especially with 'twice' added on. However, 'he kissed you once, you bussed him twice, he smooched you thrice' means, first base, second base and third base. I can only imagine that 'Sweet paradise' means 'home run' lol Great work and good luck, my friend.

Thank you, Reggie - it is just another word for kiss, as smooch is :-) It's just a poem about how wonderful kissing (first base) can be : -) Brooke

The best of luck in the contest. I think we need a little light heartedness on this site. God only knows what they call it these days and I have a feeling it means much more that we thought it was. Oh, the good old days.

Thank you, Deb - yes, some days I read so many anguished poems that a little humor seems in order :-) Brooke

this was rather short but very poetic. I liked how you put this short poetic piece together. It was my pleasure to have read and written a review for... John

It was for a 15 word or less contest, so "short" was my only option :-) Thanks, John. Brooke

Very nice poem. I am finding that short and simple can also be sweet. Nice work and picture to go along. Keep it up. Kristy

Ha ha, who knows indeed? Never heard of bussed before so I looked it up[kissed], it is a fun little take on the short love poem contest Brooke, I can still remember my first kiss, she is a policewoman now, we've managed to stayed friends throughout life, never slept with her though, so that probably helped, ha ha. Well done Brooke

You looked it up!!! Wow, I was beginning to wonder if that concept had died - I've had more than a dozen people ask me what the hell the word means. LOL God bless you. :-) Hitch kissed someone who became a cop - I like that for some odd reason. LOL Brooke :-)

I enjoyed reading this short poem about being passionately in love. Great lines and feeling of emotion. First base as kissing is so much fun. Best wishes for the contest.
