What a beautiful poem with a perfect picture to match. Thoughts of giving your heart to a new love can be a bit overwhelming. But in time, if it is true love trust will wash away the doubts. Thanks for sharing.

If I dare show you my heart, will you cherish the passion it would bring?

Or slowly destroy the life within with promises that will never be,

great two verses here - I think this is always the question - do we put our selves out there - to be loved or not loved. What is worse not knowing or the despair of rejection.

Hi GW,

Nice serene photo.

Sad, and hopeless - you bring out those emotions in this very well.

I like the way you leave it at the end, about the winds of change, as in the title.

Nice read.

Deepwater
This is very deep water here (pun intended). I like the way each verse flows into the next capping at the end with the title. Very clear imagery. Quite different than my chapter of the same name lol.

Beautifully written, Deepwater. The imagery you've chosen to express your feelings resonates with truth and gives power to your poem. Your words are simple, yet deep, and there is a cadence to them that I rarely see these days. It is truly refreshing to read a poem that is not the random angry musings of an adolescent mind, or of a mind stuck in adolescence. robin1

DW, this could have been a six! Dang it! You need to omit the comma at the end of the last line and either leave it unpunctuated or with a period, indicating the poem's end.

This piece is without a doubt very personal to you, but you managed to capture your feelings in your words in a way where it is accessible to all readers. Overall, a very good poem.

I think you did a wonderful job here. I loved everything from the word choice to the flow and even the ultimate theme of it all. There is something so peaceful about this poem, but at the same time there is a longing and a questioning of love itself. Something I so often do. Once again, excellent work!
