A well written story/poem that expressed trepidation, hope and negativity. Winging its way on the hope of long term love, trust and wishing for a long and trusting relationship. Well done.

Wow! This gave me the chills (which is a compliment). What a wonderful poem that leaves you hoping for the promise of something wonderful but the fear of what so many relationships become. This was great.

What a combination, oil field, cowboy and poet..then a lonely heart. You must just be a great writer, with a combination like that, I would think you would be snatched up...lol. Blessings to you and keep writing. Sometimes that tractor time can be a good place to collect all the thoughts that need to be collected and written down. I certainly feel the emotion and passion written in your words. I think you could have reduced the length ofsome of the lines and conveyed the same message. Punctuation also was a question in my mind. All in all a nice poem.

Hello deepwater,
You pose the age old question: "Is it worth the risk?" We can never know unless we take the step. Perhaps this is the answer: "Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
A well written, though-provoking poem.

A very well written piece. I like it. and I like the photo as well, its very well done. I should, as it is very close in theme to one that I wrote several years ago. We sort of start at a similar place, but our endings are different. well sort of anyway. You might try mine out for size. It is called 'Lighthouse,' and is in my portfolio.

I really enjoyed this. The comparisons with the water fit well with the photo. It flowed really well. It seems to start out hopeful only to later seem bleak. Great job.
