Hello Brooke,
I know I'm still here, it's darn hard to take off.
I just have to read you poetry until I leave after May 1st.
Love your Faith entry. It's so full of happy things about God's creation.

How beautiful and the use of the fruit art adds an even more "Thanksgiving" feel to the words. The poem works in imagery and in thought. Good job and good luck. ann

Really beautiful, Brooke. What a wonderful range of marvels you have chosen to reflect the magificence of the universe, from the stars to a single flower, and then further still, to mankind's hopes for the future.
The way you use words in this poem is terrific - I specially loved the way the multi syllables fit in so perfectly, for instance in the third stanza.
A reader's delight.

Brooke, this is a special write. It is so wonderful to read how you see beauty is the simplest things in creation:
the stone, grapes and buttercup and the more complex of the stars, the ocean and the air we need to live. The last lines sum up the whole, that we can be thankful for all this and live a life of gratitude. Loved reading it. Your
rhymes and presentation are beatiful.
Blessings,
Maria C.

Such a peaceful and awesome poem to God, Brooke. Your faith is so refreshingly pure. I see this in your writing everyday - not just in this beautiful poem. Your use of contrasts from the expanse of the universe to the most simple of pleasures, like a the plumpened fruit of jelly grapes preserved within a mason jar is brilliantly done. Loved this poem. Best of luck in the contest. Rose.

Master of the universe,
your muscles bulging round,
with man-at-arms beside you
my youth you did astound.
Oh He-Man you were great,
a hero without par,
and skeletor, the evil git,
he couldn't your light mar.
Each day you went to battle
to right the wrongest wrongs,
your methods never subtle,
attired in dodgy thongs.
And yet you did inspire
this young man's energy,
so Masters of the Universe,
here's thank you, sent from me.

I have to share this with my 30 year old son - you have no idea how many hours I spent searching toy stores for the newest Skeletor dolls. LOL Thanks, Mike :-) Brooke

My, you really are quite prolific.
This is a very fine spiritual poem that stops short of being religious...not that there's anything wrong with that. LOL
From firmaments to buttercups to oceans; To my mind, this is the test of a good writer; to be able to bring together different ideas and imagery into a cohesive whole.
If you were a baseball player, you'd be batting a thousand. Congratulations!

Brooke - Love this title. And what a great way to show the gratitude in describing those things that shows His greatness. I particularly liked the way you showed the grandiose along with the small. Awesome poem.
