I agree totally with you and the "peace" to be found in stone. The mountains, the rocks, all of those things that shout "Life goes on and you will survive." Excellent. ann

Perhaps the rock can have a laugh
and joke with stones all day.
Perhaps the dirt enjoys a bath
'fore each roll in the hay.

If any of these things is true,
the planet isn't feeling blue;
it's plotting against all of us!
Let's move to Mars, avoid the fuss.

Love the contrast of soft moss/steely stone--especially because I find the most peace among the Pacific northwest woods, where moss is abundant--and where I find my stoniness softened the most. I know you get it. :)

Hi Brooke,

Once again, you amaze me. Your choice of art match your thoughts perfectly. The bush between those stone gives the feeling of being protected. Your poem has perfect rhyme and meter. A pleasure to read and review. Thank you for sharing.

I agree, as the world changes so quickly and not for the good. It is a comfort in the strength and unchanging image of stone. As if we could cling to the sturdiness of its hardness and resistence to change.

Hi Brooke, just been away for the weekend and catching up on messages.
A lovely poem, with perfect artwork. Great observation that sometimes the very immovabiliy of stone is just what is needed to centre and focus. Great contrast too, between the stone and the softer, fluffier images you chose.
I always enjoy the rispetto form - just the right length I find, to get the most out of being able to read it several times over in one big gulp.
Beautifully done. Sally

Brooke, I have trouble in my attempt to sound original in my reviews of your work. As each poem is equally beautiful and a work of art. This one is no different, flows freely, with a lovely message. Yes, the ability to find peace and strength in places is fantastic. Warmest regards, Marijke

"like popcorn clouds of fluffy down" Are the clouds like "popcorn" or "fluffy down?"

Otherwise well done.

I love this line: "or moss that coats a rolling hill."
