It does flow very good..so smooth reading it. I like the lyrics with so much emotion and finding strength at the end. Being able to go on is a good thing when needed. Great poem.

Hi Nicole, and thank you for your kind review. It was suggested to me to have someone put this to music. Maybe Dolly Parton will sing this? Warmest regards, Marijke

I believe these days anything goes with poetry. While yours didn't have a classic structure, it certainly sounded great when read aloud. Your final brave message should be heeded by many women I know. You can't use loyalty to the institution of marriage to keep you from enjoying your life. Nice job.

Marijke,
Enough is enough! This woman has decided to move on, stand strong, and survive...Her tears will have nourished her soul and a new future will blossom forth.
Loved the flow of the poem. Beautifully done.
Your chosen artowrk resembles a famous fountain in Chicago, not far from me...Buckingham Fountain near Lake Michigan. It's stunning to see in day or night.

Thank you Carol, I enjoyed writing this. I've been asked if I know someone who can set it to music? I can actually hear it sung by Dolly Parton, or a couple of Aussie C&W singers.
Warmest regards, Marijke

Your poem certainly has a good rhyming scheme and flows very well. It is lovely to hear of courage and this poem speaks about courage in plenty. It takes a great deal of it to walk away from a relationship that provides security.
I hope it is read by people who need a boost to their courage.

An excellent poem showing the thoughts of a modern woman. The women of the past thought there was no boundary beyond their bodies. Not today. They demanded and got their rightful place in the society. They no longer take any nonsense.
Yes, she can go forward on her own. I've no doubt of it.

It does flow like a fountain and the story you told is one of transformation, courage and self-love.
I liked the repeating lines, and how the decision took time in that you asked the question Should I go? more than once, as it would be in real life.
Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed your "fountastic' poem, which came across as lyrics to me. It definitely flows and I liked the intermittent rhymes and the refrain.
