I thought I had caught up on all my March 30th PM's and was celebrating. I have had computer issues and have gotten way behind and then suddenly you popped up. I don't have a clue how I missed my favorite author. I am sorry. Anyway, once again you have saved me from weariness by writting a wonderful enjoyable to read poem.

Dear Brooke,
Reminds me of that old 50's song
"Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket,
Save it for a rainy day"...
Perry Como, I believe. Anyway, enough nostalgia. Great work as always.
Regards
Reg

Thanks, Reg - that is one great song, one my dad would sing for me :-) We used to always watch his television show. Brooke :-)

I love your quatrains. Your topic is bold and interesting. One can replace that star with anything which seems to have lost its original shine. Great job. God bless.

I really really likes this piece of beaytiful poetry. I like how you wonder if a wish comes true when the star is broken /damaged. You make me believe it will anyway. Really enjoyed it .0)

I love everything about this poem! An imperfect star found by an imperfect person, both becoming one, and both intertwined into a perfect piece of writing. There's wonderful imagery and hope to be found in this poem.

Thank you so much, Shirley, for such positive comments. Since you say you love everything about the poem, is there a reason for the 4 rating? Brooke

Brooke,
I love your starfish poem. Even though the little starfish is now marooned and broken, its spirit having moved on, it once was glorious in life - a sparkling star. I'm sure your wish will be granted. Kelly

Brooke - This is a lovely poem. I really like the idea of the damaged star and the wishes that might burn if it possibly doesn't work anymore. I think any prayer, imperfect though it may be, would find perfection once it made its way to God's ear anyway. Your quatrains are wonderful and I really like the format of using the 8-6-8-6 lines. My favorite line would definitely be, "It may have lost an arm or two, but it had traveled far."
Great job for a great poem!

This is such a sweet poem - love the message
in your last line and the image of the "fallen star"
in the sand. Pleasant and thought provoking.
Well crafted as usual.
