Your camping adventures are fun to read, Mike, but in the heck have you remembered every detail so well?? I can't remember what I had for supper last night. LOL Just a few things to look at...

The 29 members of the Trail Crew (formed??)a line,

hoping that we cleared the branches(.)

The only thing that got in the way of our project was it was (delete it was)monsoon season,

especially when we (delete were)were suffered from the monsoon rains.

yet keep(kept) the recoil pleasant.

The only answer to the question is the way the mind processes things. In a sense, most of this book is memories that were lost to me, but a few that remained to guide me. With me, this particular book is the reason for my existance, perhaps as a person to add a bit of challange in this world, pointed to both perceptions and a somewhat better way of looking at things and why. I thank you very much for your corrections, which will be made tomorrow as I am totally fatigued; the compliments and this review. With love, Mike

Where we were at couldn't have been - drop "at"
most of the one's used are for scouts - ones
my God like perch - Godlike
You include a good variety of information, from the reason you had to widen the trail to your high jinx at camp to rock climbing escapades to emotional ties to girls back home. Brooke

Well, the considerations of this book are mind boggling, hence the start and stop nature, which bothers me because because I lose the fluidity that I origionally intended for FanStory. Ordinarily, I have a shy nature, yet my desire for performance has facinated me with audiences. Most people would have an idea of what a trail crew does, but would become board if the didn't know the specific nature. It seems that people like knowing what you enjoyed from the experience and get a laugh out of the contridictions. Whether we talk about Jean or my life, I enjoy relaying that sense of adventure that I came to love about my life. A lot of people's are devoid with that. That is another reason that personal honesty is paramont in this presentation.

The emotional ties to the women that I liked are also important and though in a much more aberitional note, they carry through out this work as well. I have found this incarnation (and hopefully the last one) much more personally pleasing then the other two. Dare I mention the espcapades of poety that have added so much delight to my life? I am hoping to finish this in a few weeks to get back to them.

Consider the corrections made and I not only thank you for them, but also the compliments and this review. Mike

Very interesting account. I don't think the length is a problem, you needed to get the story told. If I had to make any suggestion as to flow, it would be to incorporated some dialogue, it might increase the flow. (a style issue, not error)
Some corrections needed:
*As a change in pace, Norm, Vern and I had a large Eureka Timberline tent(,) which we pitched(,) on the other side of the cook area and fire pit.
*A suitable distance away was the latrine, a box-style, pilot(,) and navigator (back to back)(back-to-back) setup.
*The official Trail Crew table was made from full grown (full-grown)
*It was our opinion,(;) he simply was getting homesick and didn't want to be with us.
*Later in the day(,) Sawmill's ranger
*daddy-long- leggers(spacing)
*Philmont latrines are two seaters'.(two-seaters)

All of the above are minor, nit-picky, overall good job!

I totally disagree with the conclusion of this review! Not nit-pickey, but expanding since I have cometo believe that one can not proof read their own works. To me the members of FanStory, are far more valuable then an editor. The corrections have been made, so I can thank you very much for the compliments and this review. I also hope that you were touched and encouraged by my reply too! Mike

I really liked this. It took me back to my childhood days when aunts and uncles took my sister and me on camping trips. It also took me to Bab, Mt. Where I got to try stripping logs by hand. Very back breaking, but wouldn't trade it for anything. Great Job!

When life gives you logs to strip, make sandles out of the bark. LOL I enjoy your appreciation of this chapter, as you shared your experiences with me. Also, I thank you for the compliments and this review. Mike k2

This sounds like it was a very fun adventure! My favorite parts were , the turkey chasing the guys off the cliff, and the bear with the Japanese campers. I think I found a couple parts to tweak. "We put "you" camp away from the other crews" ? and " the supply truck "forget" to include our wounded scouts gear"? Loved the large letters. Thank you.

I thank you very much for reviewing this chapter and the compliments. I aslo made the suggested corrections. What I loved about the Japanese crew was their overly animated reactions, they were a trip. The stories continue with the next chapter as we head out for our backpack trip in the backcountry. Mike
