And I read this one, too, which I found very sweet. The style of the poem is a mouthful to say aloud but if I read it slowly each image manifests (for me with little whispy clouds) The underlying concept I came away with was the image of the world falling apart, and love still giving a person the strength and joy to keep on keeping on.

Now that'd be a tall order! But it is a beautiful sentiment. We should find hope in people, in those God gives us to love and care for, to be loved and cared for by. Well written agian (as if I expect anything different from great!) D

Oh, Brooke, this is simply beautiful. I think the rehyming is exceptional and the words you chose were touching and deep. The art you chose is also wonderful for your poem. I love it! Ssamantha

Dear Brook,
I love the way you stack up all the negatives to lead to your irresistibly positive attitude on life. What price Don Juan now?

Brooke, A very beautiful and superbly crafted tribute to a loved one, with a feel of old-world romance and tenderness about it. Lovely! Kelly

Superb iambic pentameter; I am glad you chose to write it in ten syllables instead of eleven, because I can never figure out how to get iambic meter out of a line with an odd number of syllables. Excellent execution of the rhyme scheme as well. Good nature imagery and excellent juxtaposition of picture and poem.

Hi Brooke,

This poem could be used in religious direction. Could this be God leading through those trials? Or is it simply the feelings of human love?
Nice poem with a good rhyme and flow. Thank you for sharing this thought provoking write.

Beautiful! I like the imagination and your closing statement. I wonder whose smile that is... I always enjoy your poems, too bad I only have two six stars to give each month:).

I can't give you any more sixes for the month and then you go and post this - ! Augh!

Brooke, this is just beautiful. It is SO romantic and speaks of such love. Need I say Himself thoroughly approves?

Louise xxxx

PS nice to see 'doldrums' used in its specific context for a change!

Thank you, Louise - you've just lit up the morning, and the sun is not even up yet :-) And when Himself approves, well, then my entire day is made!! Brooke

This is one of the most wonderful thoughts imaginable; "I still will find the spark within your smile to light my path and guide me through each trial." I really like that idea.
