Brooke, Brooke, Brooke, your poetry ALWAYS moves me.

In its brevity, this poem speaks volumes. It embodies the times in which America is currrently enduring. The irony of your words are profound.

Another gem from your treasure chest.

A poem about current conditions and human behavior. It certainly is current. With all the forclosures and unkept houses lost by the people who couldn't make the payments.
A sad event told in a poetic way.

Good luck with your Naani.

It's so sad to see so many lose their homes because they were misguided by the leaches we call bankers.

Another well written thought provoking poem.

A good strong contender, and I wish you luck,

Best wishes,
Malcolm

Yes, misguided they were, and then left to hold the bag while the leeches gather in bonus pay. Thanks, Malcolm. Brooke :-)

You speak volumes of truth in these few words Brooke, the analogy is most original and apt for the emotions of those who get richer while the common man suffers. Why is this the case throughout our sordid history? Haven't we learned anything?
Very very profound thinking my friend, I bow to you.

Thank you, Curt, and good morning. I see you doing extremely well in another poem of the month contest!! As for humans, as a whole, we seem to learn very little, my friend. Brooke

Wow, this is the first poem that I have seen that actually made referance to a topic like that. Maybe not because I think I said the same thing about another poem of yours.. Whichever the case, I like that. This is bold and strong. I really like it. The picture goes well with the poem also. Wonderful.

G'day again, Brooke
This is an acute observation on one of the consequences of financial institutions greed and mismanagement that everyone seems to want to avoid confronting.

Good job!

Not only is this a great naani but what it says is so true. Bouquets of bonuses indeed. This is definitely about current conditionds AND human behavior.

To real to comment on. It somehow got out of hand, however people shouldn't buy over their means. We want to blame everyone in the banking industry for loaning money to people that had no means of repaying it. Then when they default, somehow its the mean old bankers fault. I'm not talking about people who lost their jobs and then were foreclosed, I'm talking about people who should have known better, but chose to live the American dream which is now our nightmare. Bankers? Maybe, realestate agents with poor explainations of what a 2-3-5 year arm is,and just want to sell something, probably. Nice Poem. Mike

I think the problem with people who should have known better is that many of them bought a bill of goods from men in suits who had lots of fancy diplomas on their walls and spoke so expertly when they told them they could afford these loans - buyer beware is something we all should live by, but in a world of people with not all that much education who are impressed by people who have authority and speak well, I think we need to err on the side of protecting the sheep from the wolves. Thanks so much, Mike. Brooke

Hullo Brooke ....

This is well written in the Naani format and certainly makes sense in today's world situation. I like your rhyming - vases / erases - which only works where you are because we pronounce vase with the same 'a' vowel sound as in bars. I also like your run-down house in the picture.
Thank you for sharing this with us and, as it is a Contest entry, I wish you well.
With love from .... Nanette Mary.
