Just loved this! Reminded me of holding my granddaughter Danielle, when she was small. Very well written- very touching. Thank you for sharing this. Betty

Oh - lovely. What a beautiful love is displayed in this free style poem.

I'm calling this form Jan-ism poetry. LOL I love it. The stand-out lines give great pauses and emphasis.

I enjoyed everything about this poem - especially the love expressed. This could easily be written about a lover as well. Lovely.

(Love your author notes as well.)
Nic

Janism--that's too funny--but I was considering calling the format lexism in honor of Alexis since she is the bridge between Cindy's past and future -- 3 lines, 3 generations, and the bridge -- what say you? love, jan

awww this is just a lovely poem filled with true love and selflessness for another human being. i see that you have used the format once agin and now i am having an urge to try it, but what i will do differently is to make each word in the bridge form a sentance if the bridge alone is read. i think that might be interesting. how about you? i like this one better than the last. it is very touching and i do hope that your granddaughter is all right

I think that would be great but I'm not sure I would have sense enougth to do one of those but I'm game if you are -- going to name the format after Lexi in some way or another -- actually, this is the first one I wrote in this format which is another reason to name it for her as I was holding her in my left arm while I wrote with my right one. love, jan

The art work and the words are ones of strength and love and helping someone so close.

Love and giving can be seen right through these words.

Our love can be the greatest gift that we can give.

I loved everyword and the love shown to this person is

wonderful.

Honeytree.

thanks, honeytree. I think love, particularly as expressed through the giving of quality time, is one of the best things we can give our children, whether they are kin to us or not. love, jan

Love your string of connected verse.

Such a sweet statement of love.

Especially liked:
you ever stop
needing to hold on tight
love will be the foundation

for

good and bad days
wise and poor decisions
every moment of life

because

my legacy
granddaughter's destiny
will be forever entwined

Nanny Jan this was special for you but I will guarantee it was much more for Lex. Our granddaughter after having a similar experience now wants to lie on top of her grandma when she is sick or even maybe, kinda, feeling bad work, both in your writing and loving!

I liked the flow of this poem and I dug your author notes if we only did these simple things when it comes to family then there would be more families in tact and functioning instead of the dysfunction that we often see. I do hope babygirl is feeling much better, a little love goes a long way. Good stuff here :-)
