Hi brooke, congrats for winning the 3rd place at this competition. I've been so busy with work and ministry at church that I haven't visited FS for quite some time. Enjoyed this poem a lot!:)Can't give you 6 stars, not available yet:)

How wonderful this is; what a lovely story. Congratulations on your contest win.
In line 22, I might have written: she had nothing but bile and a cackled whine. Of course that is just a suggestion.
As always, enjoyed your work.
Thanks.

I just read your entry in the poem contest and I thought it was a wonderful piece of writing. It was filled with sadness and wonder. I loved the way that your poem flowed throughout never missing a beat. It was a pleasure to read your entry. I hope that I have more opportunities to read more.
Congrats on a fine poem.

Brooke, I think this is wonderful - so clever, beautiful use of words and phrases. Such a great story, but its the way you tell it!
You should have won!
I would have given you six stars but have none left!
Take care - Cally :)

Hi, Brooke. Congratulations! What a sweet poem this is. If I may suggest, (and I seldom do to you) LOL...why not change this line by one word to personalize it a bit more:
"that all evil and wrong washed away from this land." (Make it "her land"
Just a suggestion of course...You should have won first place, girl....Bob

Thank you, Bob - I'll look at that line. Too bad I don't decide who is on the contest committees. LOL Brooke :-)

Amen..but after being here for over six years, I can tell you...unless you spend a lot of REAL money you won't be allowed to win much first placers..LOL...They spread the wealth around, you know? Just good business. How bad would itbe if someone as talented as you won over and over again...See? :) Bob

Believe me, I get what you're saying. I've won one site-sponsored contest in one and a half years - no worries about my winning over and over. LOL

Yes. I have much to discuss about this if you ever want to take the time at my personal E-mail, Brooke. It's Bobahbooe@aol.com...Bob

Hi Brooke This is such a lovely fairy tale. I love the rhyming and the sing-song flow. Strange I just noticed this on my opening page that you got third in the contest (congrats) but for some reason it didn't get placed on my messages from fans. Cheers Gaye

yes I absolutely love the challenge of telling a story in a poem..Although it comes easy for me and you, it is obviously difficult and anybody who can accomplish such is truly a vivid writer..Hitcher is just one of those too
