Brooke this is simply delightful.
You've given us the chance to walk
along the beach with you, to explore
what has been washed ashore. Your
descriptive words have colored the
images in our minds, such a precious
gift you give with your crafting of
this respite in time. no nits or spags.

I like this florette even better than your last one. It has a sense of delight - well, at least for anyone that loves to explore the tide pools. As always, you make your words flow so well. This one is a charmer. Rose.

Loved your poem as I've been drawn
for years to this great love affair.
I spent so much time by the ocean.
Even now I am usually one of the first
at the beach during summer and then that
is when we find these beautiful gems.

No matter what today's array,
soon tides will wash these gifts away,
till morrow's tide reveals a prize
more dazzling, laid before my eyes, on rich display.
--Sort of like life, isn't it? Every day a brand new box to open and explore. thanks for a great poem. ann

Hi Brooke,
It took me a couple times to read this to really get the flow, but tonight I read and I was able to settle into the beat, and I wondered why I wasn't able to this morning. Maybe too early for poems... I was able to feel like I was walking along a beach finding these treasures myself, and then the final part of the longer line was like looking up and having a thought. Which I liked.

Thanks, Turtle :-) I have sometimes read a line wrong and then have that way in my head so have to go back later - it just happens! Brooke

Hello, Brooke! I am gutted because my inbox is mysteriously empty, even though I opened all my messages in order that they should not be deleted. this is the first of your poems I have gotten to read. And what a beauty it is! I am not familiar with the florette form but, thanks to your author notes, I can see you ahve done an excellent job as always. Lovely subject too. I just love poking about in rock pools!

Hi, Kat. If you ever want to read anything by anyone, you can just access their portfolio. That's how I read people's stuff all the time, bypassing the inbox. Thanks so much, my friend. As far as I know, this is one of those new forms recently invented, not something established like the triolet :-) Brooke :-)

This is a very difficult work to write, the regulations made me dizzy but the overall impact is so lovely; that I understood. I go to the beach often, I stand by the waves and watch those mysteries. You write lovely.
