This is a very nice poem you've written. Unfortunately, it does not meet the requirements of the rictameter format for syllable count. The line, "White grace," is supposed to be four syllables instead of two. The rest of the poem, though, does fit nicely into the syllable count. I really like the message of your poem, as I have been following the Olympics with my family. Your words really do capture these athletes visually within my "mind's eye", particularly, "arms emulating soaring wings." That phrase really gives us a wonderful sense of movement. The followup line, "poets of gravity," is definitely my favorite of this piece. Good work on the poem, and I hope you can find a way to fix it for the contest. Good luck!

I am so grateful for the update in this rectameter. I was so excited watching these awesome skiers that I forgot my counting of syllables. I fixed with "White grace airborne." Thank you so much for really checking out this work.

Kamal, I like your luscious and philosophical comments. I so agree with you, all of us are competiting with others in some way or another. Mere mortals we are. My father was a sportsman, he is gone now. I watch the Olympics with his spirit at my side. He inspired me to appreciate the feasts of the body, and soul.

This is a well written piece about the wonders of certain sporting activities. The mere fact of calling them flying men depicts the poet's wonder at such feats. I don't know what you mean by poet's gravity. Overall, i think it is a good work. kudos

Thank you great poet! For me poet's gravity means some like poetry in motion, but, I had to count syllables. I hope you sitll like it.

Yes Joan, I was thinking the same. I have been taking notes since the beginning ceremonies. My father was a sportsman, he is already gone. I watch the games with the company of his spirit.

blind poet - I'm watching the women's jumping as I read your poem about jumping. I don't see how they do it and make those landings like that. And yor poem gives compelling imagery of the event. Well done and good luck in the contest.
