This particular shadorma also made me smile, as I read it and couldn't help but think about my odd compulsion to save worms off the sidewalk after rains. It usually makes me blush as I'm walking the long sidewalk path to my Engineering job, and people are walking behind me, and I stop, because I have to save the worm drowning or baking in my path. I'm sure it looks really odd, but I just feel to bad to step over when all I have to do is scoop it up and toss it to high ground.

Thank you, Turtle. I would rather get a root canal than touch a worm - you are a true humanitarian! LOL Brooke

Oh,I love this fat and sassy worm poem! Made me smile. Just the other day I wanted to eat some! LOL. But I couldn't find any (haha) so I just wrote a little silly poem about how I felt. But I didn't post it. (I'm saving it for the next time I'd feel like eating worms. Haha)

This is too cute. It makes me think of the song, I think I'll go eat worms, big fat juicy ones. Anyway, I like the format. Thank you for the author's notes, I had not heard of this format before. This is a fun poem since spring is coming and there should be lots of worms in our future. ann

The poem and imagery expands a moment and brings me back to my own childhood. I can smell those night-crawlers now! The shadorma structure works well, keeping it simple like childhood. I particularly like the last two lines,
"unless your wish is to squish
fat and sassy worms" The sh on wish and squish add to the uneasy sensation of accidentally squishing worms.
Thank you,
Shannon

Brooke, this is so true and yesterday was certainly rainy here. Love the way you used the fat and sassy worm. This is creative and makes you laugh just thinking about it. You bring out the child in me. Blessings. Queenise

This is cute and made me smile. I enjoy the way you add rhymes, or in some cases, near rhyme, to your shadormas. It adds to the "cuteness" or the child-like quality that makes these so charming. This one was definitely charming.

Skinny worms
making skinny homes,
mining out
their burrows,
knowing up above we walk
in our ignorance.

Mike

I like this form, Brooke :-). Thank you for introducing me to it!
