Hey, that looks suspiciously like South Buffalo snow... LOL! Nicely done, Indy! Six words that give us a glimpse into the author's life as a wild child finding her wings--but only for a few minutes, I'm betting!

Thanks for sharing, and good luck in the contest...Jim.

Hello AJ! Thank you for your great review and wonderful comments for my childhood winter memory. It was always so much fun to make those angels and then try to jump as far as I could from the creation so no boot steps could be seen and everyone thought it was truly an angel who made the impression in the snow. I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond to your review, but I'm just back from vacation. What a thrill to find I won the contest :>)

I can see why this one got a six! Brilliant and punny---very funny-punny.

Made em smile.

And the review has to be longer than the story. SIX words to make me smile---bravo...the picture helps too.

Warmly,
rd

Hello WildChildIndy, That's quite a story you tell in only six words. You create a snow angel by wildly moving your arms and legs back and forth while lying on the cold, new fallen snow. Making snow angels was lots of fun when I was a kid. I remember my first snow angel which was made in Minnesota when I was about 3 yrs. old. I'm sure you were thrilled with your snow angel creation. It tamed your wildnest and ignited your creative potential. From the eyes of a child, you created magic.

I wasn't even aware of this contest, so just checked it out. It must of filled up real fast. I probably would of written something about sledding down a hill.

Great contest entry! ... ;0) SnowKat

Hello SnowBallKat! My Dad told me the only time I was an angel was when I created them in the snow. I think he was kidding because I was an angelic child. lmao I loved making those angels in the snow, too...and the biggest challenge was trying to jump as far away from the angel when you were done so no boot prints were close to the angel so noone knew it was a kid who made it. LOL...how fun is that? I remember one time jumping as far away as I could, and my boots stayed in the snow angel...brrrrrrrrr feet. Every now and then, after a new snow fall, I get this urge to plop down into the snow and make an angel. Why don't I? I would love to make some adult magic! As always...thank you, SledKat.

Karyn, this is a delightful six word story of a winter childhood memory - it complements the picture perfectly and gives the main character, you, a personality as well as providing the reader with a great visual. The picture is necessary, but hey, with only six words to work with, I'm not complaining :-) Brooke

Hello Brooke! Yeah, had to have the photograph for this one to make it work. I do love the challenge of getting a complete image across in six words. Thank you for your comments and review. Thanks!

I really like the images that your six words provoke for me. The transformation from wild child, I've known a few' to angel, or at least snow angel.

OH this is excellent. I actually really like it, I can imagine a child laughing on her back in the snow and swinging her arms and legs back and forward in a sweeping motion. Wild behaviour but creating an angel. I imagine you came home sopping wet once the snow melted!

Lovely imagery.

Well done. Alison

Hello Alison! Thank you for taking the time to read and review this little childhood memory of mine. I'm delighted you enjoyed it and could picture the creation of my angels. It was great fun to do this and my Dad used to jokingly say it was the only time I was an angel.
    Thanks!

Indiana... it appears that in six simple words, you have told a story.. very well done and deserved of a six star rating!
Let me think... it can't be you as this wild child, can it be?
Good luck in the contest..

WOW! Thank you, John, for this incredible rating and I'm thrilled you got the chance to read and review this memory. Oh yeah, that be me...I definately had "some of the divil" in me as my Gram used to say. I loved making snow angels and I keep having this desire to flop down in the snow this winter and create a choir of heavenly IndyAngels!! LOL Thank you so much for the shining stars, my friend, and I treasure your best wishes.

Dear Indy, I saw this picture first on the front page, and I said to myself: looks like an angel. I'm right...:) Is this the result of playing on the snow? Ah, naughty child, creative outcome.

Hello Belinda! Yes, you have it right. You stand up in preferably new-fallen snow, and then kinda just flop down backwards...you move your arms and legs back and forth and very carefully, get up without disturbing your snow-angel creation. The furthest you could jump away from the angel so you didn't have boot-prints, the better it was. My Dad told me one time that the only time I was an angel was when I made myself into one in the snow...he was kidding...I think. LOL

Thank you for your wonderful review and taking the time to read and comment.

That little snow angel marks where the wild child has been.
The symbolism is evident.
A great very short comment.
