Hi Brooke,
Nice job with your Florette. You always have such lovely flow within your poems.
You nailed the syllable count for the Florette and the rhyme scheme. I don't know about you, but I had trouble with the last line in each verse trying to get the eighth syllable to match the "B" ending rhyme.
The imagery you created of swirling and glittering snow
was beautiful in my mind's eye. I could picture myself in the midst of all that sparkle. Loved It!
Good Luck in the Contest

Thank you, Helvi - yes, I found that final line difficult to construct, too, but we both figured it out! :-) Good luck to you, too, in the contest, my friend :-) Brooke

This so perfect and beautiful. We can never thank God enough for all He does, but praise Him for the gift of writing He's given to you.

Brooke - Didn't I just read a florette poem of yours about the seashore? This one about the snow is pretty good, too, with the imagery you conjure up of the snow. Well done and good luck in the contest.

Yes, you did. LOL I wrote this one for the contest a couple weeks ago and then today, I wrote the seashore one. Thanks so much, my friend. Brooke

Hello Brooke.
This is a fine testament to both nature and God. Snow is a great example of ceaseless change and we've had plenty of it falling here to spend time watching it. This is my favorite verse:
I cannot pay the debt I owe
for boundless beauty God bestows,
so poetry I'm left to write
to praise the Lord for this delight of drifting snow.
Best to you in the contest. Rebecca

This is a lovely form, I might have to have a go at that myself if I can summon up that muse wherever she is vacationing at. LOL Ahh I do wish for you some spring time weather to get you out of the snowy wintry writing. Although you do a great job with them. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Jo Lynn, so far it is my one and only use of the form.
Yeah, I'm wishing for spring more than you can ever know - soon I'm going to go from pretty snow poems to homicidal maniac poems. LOL Brooke :-)

These winter related poems are marvelous-- I so enjoy reading them as they capture the pristine beauty and charm of snow and they make you forget the cruel and sometimes deadly nature winter storms can take on... (I was stranded in a ditch for two hours last night just three miles from home.. but way out in the country where I had to call the local road commish to send a plow to get me out- I'm ok but it wasn't fun being buried in a five foot drift..) Anywho- love the poem! -michael

I hate all that stranded in ditch stuff which is why I stocked up on groceries Monday and have no plans to go anywhere again any time soon! Thank you, Michael - glad you're safe :-) Brooke

This form becomes you! I like very much what you've done here--the poem flows nicely despite the difference between 8 syllables and 12, which doesn't always make for smooth rhythm.
Terrific.
