What can I say. I could never write like this because I don't have the patience to do it properly. This kind of writing can only come from a learned hand and I have much to learn from this. :D

I have tried to write updated spiritual bible poems though I have struggled with the words you have so successfully managed to use in your writing here so I congratulate you here on doing such a good job. You obversally captured the essence and meaning of what spirituality and belief and your connection to family is about here. I don't think there was such a need for a lengthy explanation in your notes. Love and light jo*

You're probably right, but all those explanations came out of questions from reviews. Thanks for a good review.

Alvin you are truely blessed to have had always had the faith
i bow down to people like you for i have been a disgrace
to turn my back on he who created us why did i ever doubt
ive turned my back on all thats good
but believe me lord on sunday the truth will be out

my whole life thru ive been in denial
of myself the lord and jesus
but from joining fanstory ive found the truth
i'll then spread the word hoping people will believe us

when i first came across your writing
ithought to myself alvin thats a chipmunk
but you truely are an honourable man
youd not just an ordinary punk

you had a rotten childhood
i thought i did but it could have been worse
thats when i let the devil in
so now im going in reverse

i'll have to put with the taunts
with the shame and all the flak
im gonna run away no longer
as long as i've the lord to watch my back

thank you Alvin your one of many thats been an inspiration to me on here. watch this space and belive me or not but come sunday illgat my come uppance and find if any who my friends.

I see. You do make it sound like a public event. Remember, it is only between you and God. You make need to make amends to those you have hurt in the past, but you need to be in a good space when you do that.

god already knowa. i want it out in public
reply by the author on 18-Sep-2010
I am not quite sure I understand. What is the reason you want it out in public? How would it glorify God?
reply by dave d yes its me on 18-Sep-2010

I'm not a Christian woman, that much I'll admit, but this was done beautifully. Normally I look down on those that use Old English because they don't bother to do so correctly. I congratulate you this piece, especially with this iambic pentameter.

I wrote a Sonnet Redouble which took me close to six months to finish and scrapped the iambic part for other than the last sonnet. Hahaha. Modern Sonnets are best for me. =]

But this most definitely deserves all 5, if not 6, stars.

What can I say except where are your 6 star ratings? They were not available. This is a stunning peice of work, beautiful and timeless. I especially connect with the fourth section. What are you going to do with this beautiful work? It should be shared with a wider audience.

It has been made available to a wider audience. There were quite a few six star ratings on the piece, which should be there if you look at all the reviews. Thanks for a great review.
reply by zwrite1 on 24-Jul-2010
I was only able to give you 5. It deserved 6 plus for sure. Are you saying it is published in one of your books? I'd love a published copy. zwrite1
reply by the author on 24-Jul-2010
No, it has been submitted for a prize; I haven't heard back yet. Actually, since you brought it up, tomorrow you can give it a six. Here's how you change the rating:

It's actually very easy to change the review or rating of a work at any time. I do it often on Sunday when I receive my allotment of four six stars reviews. Of course, each time I do that, I lose a six star rating for the week beginning on said Sunday.

Go to My Menu in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Scroll down to My Feedback and from the drop-down menu, select Reviews I Wrote. All the reviews you have written will come up, and you scroll down to the one you want to change. Click on Edit Review in the lower RIGHT hand screen of the review; you then can change the wording of the review or the rating.

Of course, I am not asking you to revise the review or the rating; I am just explaining how it can be done after the factâ??it's helped me correct many a mistake.

Awesome...Wow...Exhilarating...Extraordinary...The birth, The events, The observance for God, The healing, The preaching, He Sacrificed His life and The Last Supper.

I wish all bibles in bible study classes were written like this. I would have paid attention more...

Improvements: None.

Well done. Taking 3 months to write this is well worth
the Honor when you reach The Pearly Gates into Heaven.

Alvin, this standard of poetry can only be awarded the highest available merit. Your usage of words, rhyme, and general display of literacy is wonderful. I thought my own poetry was of a high standard, but I stand truly humbled. Fabulous.

Excellent work. Easy flow and word connection. I enjoyed reading this poem so much, I read it twice. I found myself relating due to my own beliefs and experiences. Thank you
