I really liked this one, Brooke - sometimes on my worst days I wouldn't mind wrapping myself inside a cloud and drifting far away from everything. As much as I feel everyone needs to embrace their burdens, sometimes you just need a break, heh.

This is a cute poem that seeks not to really escape but just rest a while while the storms abate. I enjoyed it and see no reason to change anything in it.

I'm glad you posted this because I saw the contest, but wasn't sure about it until I actually saw one. I think I'd like to hide away at times until every was all better too. Really nice job on this.

Oh, one of those days! LOL I couldn't think of a softer place to hide or be tucked away than in a puffy cloud. This poem not only showed some humor but also a soft side.

Beautiful. I could feel the urge to float carefree on a cloud. Nicely done. Beautifully chosen words. Great artwork. This one is a real keeper. Great job.

Brooke, this is wonderful! I'm not familiar with the Scottish stanza, so I appreciated your author's notes as well as your well penned poem. I think I'm going to copy and frame it and hang it on my office wall. Believe me, there are so many days when.....
"but if allowed,
I'd find that soft, safe hiding place
inside a cloud."
Thanks for sharing your wonderful poem. It is a perfect read for a cold Monday evening. -ray

I have read Burns in the past in school, but it never really had occurred to me that he was using some particular style. I'm honored you would hang this up :-) Brooke

What's this Brooke? You're not trying to be a better person? What shame you must bear! LOLOL.
This really is a neat little poem, and once again you've introduced and instructed us all on a new form of poetry, at least new to myself and probably most of us. And who among us doesn't want to 'hide inside a cloud", at least sometimes. Enjoy your moments in the clouds; you're entitled! :-)
Warmly,
-Lee

Brooke, we all have those days when we are not inspired to be much of anything. Your poem is well written and I always appreciate you author notes to educate us.

Very nice piece. I enjoyed reading it, although I have never really been a fan of Burns. I do enjoy that you tell all about the poets you are emulating.
